    Default Cavalary price and upkeep

Why is cheaper but its should be so much more expensive? I dont see any logic behind that.

IIRC AI buys units according to their stats/number and price. Low price of cav. is some kind of "motivation" for the AI to buy more cav to its armies.

This. The cavalry prices and upkeep are intended so the AI will recruit cavalry in their stacks. As player you have the option to keep your cavalry on an historical proportion. If you don't want too, then as the economy rises, i suspect the price tag won't make much difference. Personally i haven't seen unbalanced cavalry AI stacks in my campaigns.

Cavalry in Rome TW aren't as deadly as in Medieval 2 TW, or at least in my opinion. In M2 TW one Heavy Cavalry unit could steamroll pretty much any unit and make them rout. Not the case in RS2.

Yes, that is my perception too. Even combined charge of 2 or 3 cav. units have trouble routing average non- spear infantry unit.

As for the challenge with sarmatians and their horse archers think of it as a challenge historically Romans had to face too against nomads like Huns or Alans. Or change to 1-turn campign if you're annoyed by fighting full stacks of horse archers every other turn.

You must not be charging correctly then. With 2 equites it's not that difficult to rout full infantry units provided you attack from the flanks. To get the best outta your charge you have to place your cavalry in the direction of the charge, make sure there is enough room for them to lower their spears and wait until they're in position and have stopped moving before you order the charge.

Yeah, bad spelling on my part, but anyway...you beat back the Sarmaritans on h/h? Seriously? I depleted my population fighting them and couldnt hold nothing but my own started settlements that soon fell. Just couldnt get past the Hordes of jeeps with machine guns attached to them (Horse Archers.)

Well there shouldnt be more cavalry, because they are elite and most expensive. If army had more than 10% of its force as cavalry it was super strong.

one last thing about fighting the sarmatian that could help. upgrade your weapons and armor +2. on hard/hard its very important to lower your casualties; a doctor in your main army helps too.

At EB (with Alex.exe), the cavalry has very expensive prices and the A.I. still recruits them. To a small percent ofc, but in full stacks there will be 2 or 3 heavy cavalry or HA.

I believe in RS 2.6, you could try to find a way to make the cavalry cost more and still the A.I. to be able to recruit them.

I am not doing any critic here, it's just my wish.

For the record, i increase the cavalry prices of the faction I am going to play through the EDU before i start a campaign.

It takes some minutes, but i find it a good solution. If the cavalry costs 400 and the skirmishers 900, then I am a a bit bothered, that's why i change it
