    Which do you prefer?

    Drag +click, walk or run?

I want my units to walk when drag+click just like rome 1...

I use my left fingers for controlling camera and sometimes hotkeys..., i dont want to have additional buttons... its hard to locate a key in keyboard when you are playing... sometimes you might press the wrong hotkey, and by the time you look at your keyboard, you could miss some actions on your secreen...

Walk. Running takes away stamina. I do not want a stamina-draining movement as the default action to move.

What is the point of this poll? It is not like this has been something that came up in gameplay.
When Hiero returned to besiege their base (Messana) in 265 BC the Mamertines called for help from a nearby fleet from Carthage, which occupied the harbor of Messana. Seeing this, the Syracuse forces retired, not wishing to confront Carthaginian forces. Uncomfortable under the Cathaginian "protection," the Mamertines now appealed to Rome to be allowed into the protection of the Roman people. At first, the Romans did not wish to come to the aid of soldiers who had unjustly stolen a city from its rightful possessors. However, unwilling to see Carthaginian power spread further over Sicily and get too close to Italy, Rome responded by entering into an alliance with the Mamertines. In response, Syracuse allied itself with Carthage, imploring their protection. With Rome and Carthage brought into conflict, the Syracuse/Mamertine conflict escalated into the First Punic War.

This poll only suggest the preferences of most players regarding the default run..

But was there any implication or disclosure to TW changing this?

Oh. I did not know that since I had no interest in playing S2TW. Previous Comment(s) retracted. I still prefer default walk (as voted).

I prefer run hands down. when I order my troops to just walk, its usually before the melee is happening, so I have no problem to hold ctrl while issuing move orders. Once melee commences I want my units to run anyway.

Btw the units only run when you drag the formation, not when you click.

Run. When you need them to run you don't have to do anything more than drag and drop; when you want them to walk you just have to push ctrl, and, since you are in no hurry, it's not a waste of time.
The only situation in which you don't want your soldiers to run is in the slow march towards the enemy at the beginning, where you have all the time to press ctrl, for the rest (flanking, disengaging, etc.) you want them to run. Double clicking isn't that reliable: you can find yourself spamming run orders, but since you pressed the mouse an odd number of times your soldiers are walking out of a fight instead of running and getting slaughtered in the meantime.

I prefer run. I usually use drag click to manoeuvre my troops into position just prior to an attack and it's kinda annoying to have them just sort of causally stroll over to where I want them in the middle of a massive battle. It's kinda important, guys!

This is probably the sort of thing that you should be able to set as an option, and maybe even toggle with a keyboard shortcut during battle because you probably *do* want them to walk by default in when you're just marching over to the enemy.

Walk because a lot of my S2 battles took place in forest where I wanted to approach the enemy from a mainly separate direction to my general to catch them off guard. Units still hide while walking but if I need to reorganise their formations to remain in that narrow stretch of woodland, why should they then run off giving up my position?
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I am me. You are not me. You are you. If I was you, I wouldn't be me.
If you were me, I'd be sad.But I wouldn't then be me because you'd be me so you wouldn't be me because I wasn't me because you were me but you couldn't be because I'd be a different me. I'd rather be any kind of bird (apart from a goose) than be you because to be you I'd have to not be me which I couldn't do unless someone else was me but then they would be you aswell so there would still be no me. They would be you because I was you so to restore balance you would have to be me and them meaning all three of us would become one continously the same. That would be very bad.

You just hold ctrl and then drag and the units will walk and stay hidden!

The arguments for run are all really good. When I'm in a hurry, I'd prefer not to have to tap "R" or "H", so default run is good. When I am walking, obviously I am not in a hurry, so using the ctrl button is fine.

Walk, easier to keep them in formation - especially if you're moving both infantry and cavalry simultaneously.

i think its easier to run by pressing h or clicking the icon for run rather than holding ctrl or alt then drag and click to walk... aside from that if you are used to those battle controls, you will find it confusing.... for me...

When repositioning, they waste their stamina on running instead should be used for fighting...

Maybe it would also be interesting to be able to make you troops walk, jog or sprint

I prefer the default to run, as when I am in a hurry in the middle of the battle I don't need to remember to make them to run, they just do it. Yet when I am just setting up my formation I can just hold 'Control' so they walk. Simply I'd rather not have to press an additional button when things are hectic; I'd rather have to do it when things are slower, before the battle commences.

run, reasons have been told if you want to walk you generally have more then enough time to do the action, in the middle of the battle i dont want to remove a unit and start walkingg like nothing is happening, never would want to go back to walking after playing some shogun and going to previous TW titels it annoys me.

but couldnt CA just make it an option in the options menu, or would that be too much work?
