Default Something I noticed about the Campaign Map

I looked at the map in the E3 for Gamespot in more detail and I saw that Sicily is not its own "province" and part of Magna Graecia?? Why is this? Does that mean Syracuse or Lilybaeum will not have sieges?

And is Sparta the only city in Peloponnese?

Maybe we can mod them later on?

Syracuse will not have a siege because it is not the Provincial Capital of Magna Graecia. Not sure why CA decided on which city would be the Capitals of the Provinces but I wish things were a bit different in some locations. Sparta is indeed the only city in the Peloponnese with the Provincial Capital of Hellas being Athens. I doubt mods will be able to change these type of things but I hope I am wrong.

Regarding the mods, it is too early to decide anything. However, you have to also understand that every feature that is an eye-candy or a plus has its price in terms of feasibility.

There is another thread about cities that won't have siege battles.. Syracuse, Rhodes, and Jerusalem. It is really sad that they won't.

If you look at the campaign map when they zoom it in, you see these icons all over the map. I believe they may be city icons because when he mouses over Rome, it says Rome. And there's an icon at Syracuse and Lilybaeum (don't know if that's the correct spelling), so I believe there cities will be there. You can also see an icon where Jerusalem would be.

Is there any source claiming that Syracuse is not the capital of Magna Grecia province?

I don't believe this was the correct decision by CA. They should have added a very expensive, top of tech tree upgrade to non-province capital settlements that adds a wall and promotes them to siege battles. This could've been pre-built in historically important cities that aren't province capitals and allowed the player to upgrade some of their own cities to have walls, while still cutting down the number of siege battles by making the wall upgrade very expensive.
Dominion of Dust. A city of sand. Built your world of nothing. So how long did it stand?
A 100 years? Now wasn't it grand? Built your world of nothing. How long did it stand?
What did you think would happen? When did you think it would all fall down?

I agree. The way it is now is simply to inflexible. Not all Provincial Capitals should automatically have walls and not all Regional cities lack walls. Your suggestion would seem to be an easy fix and makes much sense.

Yes, or you could have it tied to the population of the region. Once it reaches a certain number (a number equivalent to/more than the province capital) it would be able to build walls, turning it into a siege battle.
It would be really cool, and if you set high requirements to do this then you would still have a low number of sieges.

I asked the same question some days ago and it seems ,for the majority of the responses, that is how ill be ....
Jack said that having small villages all around the map is terrible idea or boring .

I will leave another message to CA : when a "thing" or a "Person" is having sucess ,dont change it.
CA keeps changing over and over TW and this is leading them to the wrong way .

Wonder how difficult this would be to mod in. Depends how they've implemented walls and such.
