Icon4 2 questions about rome two

    Hello, My questions are:

One: Will there be a possiblity of a roma surrectum three for rome two total war, I absolutly loved RS2's campaign map. The buildings and the amount of buildings within a city that you could be APPAULED me. I would donate for mod of this stature

Two: Discounting the fact that the TWC community doesnt know the status of modding capabilities of rome two, would it be possible to ADD cities to rome two total war's campaign ma. Perhaps 10-20, Or would some mechanic added in the recent engine readjustification hamper any possibility in adding these cities to the map ? Now contrary to my point about the ignorance of the modding capabilities, could you add cities or regions in shogun two, if not then it will most likely be a no for rome aswell. I have never seen any mods that add cities to shogun two total war's map

WELL HOLY ****, HES GOT IT. I understand sarcasm man, and I dont appreciate it, but I do understand where your coming from. But my question and statement "could you add cities or regions in shogun two, if not then it will most likely be a no for rome aswell. I have never seen any mods that add cities to shogun two total war's map" can be anwserd without playing rome two total war.

Soo you answered your on question? But no there is no mod yet to implant more "cities" on to the map. but there is people working on it ( I think it was Spartan_warrior who added some few castles).

It is possible to do in Shogun 2, but that's because we have the Assembly Kit. It is extremely difficult to do as there are loads of data involved in the process. This isn't Rome or Medieval II, the campaign map has been evolving to much more complex state since Empire. And there are still problems with adding new provinces, spartan_warrior and .Mitch. have pointed them out but I can't remember them right now.

Rome II will most likely be even more complex than Shogun 2, so it all depends on if we get any modding tools and if modders are willing to put time and effort into figure it out.

You can add city's and even change the map in Shogun 2, who knows if day one you can do that with Rome 2. Try enjoying the game before we ask for Mods, its going to be a good game on its own.

Why buy it if you can't mod it my moto..
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

Yes, if someone has a lot of time to spend in order to do that.

Two: Discounting the fact that the TWC community doesnt know the status of modding capabilities of rome two, would it be possible to ADD cities to rome two total war's campaign ma. It is possible to add cities and regions to Shogun 2, so I guess it would be roughly the same for Rome 2. It is extremely time consuming in S2, though.

Hi, hrissker. Please accept these as assumptions and not as fact

    1. I believe that the Roma Surrectum team will in fact try to create a modification for Rome 2, but at least initially it won't be a very extensive one. Rome 2 is not Rome 1 and a lot of what made RS such a great mod was the addition of features that are supported by Rome 2. The 28 legions can be recreated by just having 28 stacks and naming them. The addition of lots of models, more richly skinned and more detailed ones than in RTW will be present in Rome 2. Visual quality has become very important for CA and because of that the models have a very detailed skins and animations. I don't think it will be possible for the RS team to create a new campaign, due to the fact that it would require a new campaign map and so far all campaign map research has been performed by Spartan_warrior. The creation of a new campaign map is a huge endeavour and requires tools equivalent to the Assembly kit for Shogun 2.

    2. I think Spartan_warrior showed that with the right tools it's possible to add new regions. There was a limitation, however, but I can't remember whether it was the number of provinces(regions) or the number of castles. I just don't remember. Even more so, Rome 2 will feature a new map and an evolved engine, so maybe the limits of the map design will be higher than the expected number of provinces and regions. If that assumption is true and if also we get the assembly kit, then it will be possible to add new regions and settlements. But of course, we don't know whether any of the assumptions will be correct.
