    Default Hospitaller knights and error?

I'm in 1404 turn 185. I hit end turn and this error occurred, several times: 17:57:49.788 [system.rpt] [error] Medieval 2: Total War encountered an unspecified error and will now exit.
Anyway, according to the first post in the thread: 'Bug report for 6.4' the reason might be that I upgraded my Hospitaller Knights from no armor to full armor. And it was in fact the first time I did it in game. When I did a test without the upgrade I didn't get the error. So I'm pretty sure the hospitaller knights are the problem.

So, how do I fix this? I want my knights..

Ok, now this happened. To be honest I do not understand what the problem is.

I reinstalled Medieval II some time ago and it seems like I forgot to give full control in Properties. However, I have done it with previous installations and deleted the game from C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files

I will give the game a try and see if it works.

An other thing, I ran both Baraban's fix post 15: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...x-included-%29
    and this: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...texture%29-Fix

Does it matter? They are compatible? Both solve the Hospitaller knight bug.

The latter includes both fixes, cause only one is goin' to work, else it overwrites the modeldb and vice versa.
THat's why I included the hospitaller fix in my file as well and Men at Arms are going to be quite common (with armor upgrades) for the player and AI as well.

So I can delete the file Baraban's fix added to the game? The SS_pplate_hospitaller.texture file?

Anyway, I played some the other day and I have not experienced any CTD yet.

Just leave it..it doesn't hurt anyone.
The file includes 'only' the proper pointer to the existent texture; the other file (Baraban) just adds the missing texture, while it is just a copy of the existent armored texture with a different name.
the modeldb change on the other hand corrects the pointer, so the file is not needed; but all blacksmith-armored Hospitaller should look similar nonetheless - in case it matters.

no bad install...just the common output with the trace/debug option enabled.

@Strategos Autokrator : what have you changed then? Both "battle_models.modeldb" (hosp. fix or men at arms fix) replace the "EN_pplate_hospitaller.texture" link to the existent "SS_pplate_hospitaller.texture" but according your output, you are back to the unmodified modeldb, or never replaced it or deleted the old EN_pplate...whatsoever file? (from the other fix)

You could as well just left the texture file alone, as it is the same as using the modded file; specially if you are using certain unit pack or overhauls (ie Komnenian roster).

This was a custom battle with only hospitaller knights with full armor upgrades in the game.

OK, now I have added both the EN_pplate... and the SS_pplate.. to the folder. It works.

I don't know what happened. I didn't delete any of them and it worked the other day. Anyway, I think It works now.

    Thank you for the help.
