    Default ideas for prometheus grass mod

    I tried Prometheus Grass-mod and it catched my interest.
    He had a wonderful idea for making the rtw battlefields even more rich in details and beauty and i like to add my ideas for all who like to work with it.

    Prometheus textures change the look of the grass completly and the default used texture is something transparent which lets two different grass textures for each climatic region show through it.
    If you scroll over the battlefield the ground textures are not allways the same, most of the times there are two or more different textures with unique coloring and they influence the look of the grass.

    Therefore i started to create, inspired by Prometheus`s textures, new textures which are partly transparent and have also non-transparent parts. .....and still develop that idea.
    Pictures show more then thousend words, how wise! :O)

    Highland is a good example for the more difficult terrains. A mixture os short yellow grass, purple heather and little greens.
    Here the transparency is of major importance for nicely blending with the landscape

    here you better see what i want to describe, the usage and effects of a variant from the above texture with yellow and purple flowers, adding details but also blending with the ground and basic grass textures.

    Now that is some very, very good grass. Its interesting how modders are only just really beginning to experiment with grass a few months before M2TW comes out, hopefully all of this knowledge can be applied tot he grass in M2Tw when it comes out.

    Thanks for sharing this. I hope you'll post it sometime. I really appreciate that people still work on this game and don't give up on it just because newer stuff comes out. Newer stuff is nice, but will have it's own troubles. It's little things like this that continue to make RTW more and more 'like' MTWII, and exploit the many possibilites there are/were to use CA's engine far beyond what they conceived. That little additon of flowers is just FANTASTIC!!

    Sometimes i was that much busy with modding that i expierenced some features of the game for my self , half a year after i had installed it!.
    Absolutly crazy!
    Usualy i must feel somehow satisfied with the results of new stuff, before i publish any files and that takes sometimes more then a week.
    But i will upload them as soon as possible

    DEVELOPMENT - DOCUMENTATION Part II

    i think i made my favorite for the climatic zone temperate open forest. and i hope you all agree also critics are helpful too ;O)

    the main technic the get the look, was to make 3/4 of the texture with a grass texture and the upper tips of the grass leaves transparent, for blending with the landscape.
    I looked for some time, how the wind blows over the grass and i had the feeling to look out of an real world window.......

    looks great i alwyas felt that the battlefields of RTW were a bit dull and im glad to see it is been explored

    Hey, looks awesome! Can I use prometheus grass mod together with a full modification? If so, would anyone give me a link? Google only gives me full modifications with the grass mod implemented

    Anything other than the ugly vannilla one!
