Default Confusion Over E3 Campaign Map

Well the battle they are playing is a historical battle. It is the battle between Ptolemaic Egypt and Rome.
So I wanted to see if our esteemed historians can tell me if the mini map is correct for the time period.
Historical Battle, Historical Campaign Map I was thinking but dont know if its more or less correct.

    Also somethings been bugging me.
Why do we need a Campaign Map for Historical Battles? Is Carthage and Tuetoberg the same way. What service would it serve? I can only think it would be used like a small Campaign.
A small Historical Campaign, not a battle. Something like in Napoleon.
Heres the video if you want to check it out.

The campaign map footage and the historical battle footage is not linked. It's just edited in a way to transition the E3 viewer into the historical battle whilst also showing off some of the campaign map.

I guess that makes sense. Was just curious because it seemed that he zoomed out from egypt to the whole map then zoomed back to egypt to play the historical battle. I didnt see any editing or cutting.

Of course you didn't see any editing or cutting. CA wanted to make the demo look good.

I guess that makes sense. Thought it would be a bit strange to have a historical campaign map along with the battle. Thats why I was curious at the way the mini map looked because it seemed that Rome was at a fairly decent extent and that Parthia was the only other rivaling empire. I though this was maybe a bit historically accurate therefore thinking that its was maybe a historical campaign as appose to just a battle.

Not to be rude but seriously? Many people are taking this show off of the game as the real thing. The real thing will be at Rezzed people! E3 is more like a marketing convention (showroom anyone?) for games not a gaming convention!

They are both showrooms... E3 might be a showroom for casuals ("heeey!!! dat catapoult explosionz was so efing epicxxxx!!!") while Rezzed could be a showroom for hardcore gamers ("yes, we listen so much to our beloved community so one of the main features in our new game is historical accurate roman soldier sandals).

Both are there to try and convince a different portion of the playerbase to buy their game.

Just notice the fact that there is not even a loading screen.

The whole thing is a gameplay video, but a video after all. Check how the in-game camera movements are exactly the same in all the interviews.

And you did see editing and cutting:

    - the game jumps from a normal campaign to a historical battle that (probably, i assume) have nothing to do with each other, no matter how hard they try to make it look like it does
    - There is no loading screen between the campaign and the battle (if they have actually achieved this, then respect, but i highly doubt it, also they would have mentioned it).
    - The battle ends abruptly with no post-battle reports of any kind and jumps to a trailer.

All of that means it is in fact a totally edited video.

In the campaign map he is controlling the Romans. In battle he is commanding the Egyptians.

Really freaks you out the first time you see it

this and plus, i dont expect every battle will start with a cutscene like that, also remember that the pre battle menu said the battle was talking place on grasslands and both armies were in a predominantly green area however the battle itself was in a deserty mountainous region

there is no doubt about it, the battle and campaign were 2 totally separate gameplay demos edited to make it look like they were linked

I don't think it was a historical map. Although I guess the idea of starting a map at certain periods in history would be cool.
