Icon4 Installed MOS, but do not have the options at the start

    Hey everyone,

If anyone can help, I have a problem. I have TATW 3.2 and have the MOS mod 1.41. When I see videos on youtube everyone seems to have choices at the start that allow them to choose if they want a certain faction to have "Mystery Documents" or other choices for factions.

However when I start a campaign, nothing comes up at all that allows me to choose options for certain factions. I have tried to search high and low to find out why I don't have this feature. Obviously I have come up empty, and have no resorted to writing this.

Thank you for your help and time please respond.

Hi there and welcome to TWC Forums!

Please, do not make posts everywhere for the same thing, better to keep it in one place so that there will be no confusion.

    Now, answer few questions:

    1. What Windows do you have ( or is it MAC, Linux) ?

    2. Is your M2TW steam or non steam version?

    3. Have you installed all four TATW Installers, and did you check does your TATW work BEFORE installing MOS?

    4. What version of MOS Installer are you using, the Full Installer, or the one with more parts?

    5. Did you run Cleaner.bat file found in your ../m2tw/mods/Third_Age_3 = folder where MOS is installed)/ ?
American, French, Israeli and British government's ILLEGAL aggression against the Syrian people, without any proof for chemical attacks in Douma, and without waiting for OPCW to conduct their investigation..
Sons of *******, leave that poor, war torn country in peace.
If you are a citizen of one of these countries, then DO NOT ask any help from me on these forums, since, in protest against this aggression by your governments, I do not provide assistance/help anymore.
Let Syria be finally in peace.

    Hey Elven Kid,

Sorry for the double post I don't know how to delete the post. Anyway I will go down your list.

    1. I am currently running a desktop PC with windows 7.

    2. My M2TW is a steam version and I have placed it in the steamapps-common-medieval total war 2 kingdoms-mods folder.

    3. I have installed all four TATW installers starting from TATW 3.0 part 1 all the way to TATW 3.2. I have also checked to make sure that TATW 3.2 is running and it runs and I was able to play for awhile then I installed MOS.
    4. The version of MOS I use is the 1.41 full installer

    5. As for the Cleaner.bat file I did not run it. Do I run it before or after the installation of MOS?

    It`s ElvenKind..

First, verify game cache: right click M2TW in your Steam library > properties > local files > verify integrity of game cache..

Cleaner.bat can be run even now, but, try to manually delete these files ( after you verified game cache ):

    Delete map.rwm file found in ..M2TW\ mods\ Third_age_3 = where MOS is installed \ data\ world\ maps\ base folder.

    Go to ..M2TW\ mods\ Third_age_3 = where MOS is installed \ data\ text folder and delete 27 *strings.bin files :

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    And check does it work.

Hey LOL! thanks so much for the help!

I realized the dumbest thing. I did not update Medieval total war 2, which steam should automatically do for me, but it didn't I used the clear.bat and it worked thank you so much for the help.
I hope they make a TATW for Rome 2 Total War!!

One more thing for you to do: For battle crashes, go to ..M2TW\ mods\ Third_Age_3 = where MOS is installed \ data folder, and, delete two descr_geography_new files ( .db and .txt ).

    Enjoy playing MOS.
