So I'm making this amazing music submod that may or may not have region specific music () and I'd like to hear what the community thinks about campaign map music - specifically, I'd like to know whether you prefer thematically appropriate or diverse music. The intial idea was that when you play for example Rohan, it should feel like Rohan, which means that most of the tracks would have Rohan music, with bits of other themes (such as shire, fellowship, etc...). The problem is that if I make the submod this way, the music will not be very diverse. There will be only around 25 tracks for each faction, with around 10 faction specific tracks and 15 non-specific, but still thematically appropriate tracks. The alternative is that all "good" factions would have similar, if not the same tracks. The music would be more diverse but it would not capture the feel of a faction.
So what do you personally prefer? Less diverse music that captures the feel of a faction, or more diverse music that does not do that?
