Default Question on combined land/sea battles...

Maybe this has been asked already, but I haven't seen it.

So my question is what are the unit limits like in combined land/sea battles? Will it be like 1 army of up to 20 units and 1 navy of up to 10 (or whatever the naval limit is)? Or will you be able to have 40 land units and a fleet as well? Or is it like a combined number of land/sea units up to 40 or something like that?

Only people who can answer that is CA at this point, I'm more interested in what the victory conditions are for battles like that? What if your army gets routed but your Navy destroys the enemy fleet, will the navy then have to land Marines in order to gain victory or is the battle really just a side show for who wins on land?

You can command up to 40 units in two stacks. If you look closely, you can see that the player switched between the two stacks - it happens in the start when he starts to control his fleet and then later switches to his land force.

That's a good question, not really sure how it will work but I did notice that when they click on a naval unit the ui changed to all naval units. So if I was guess you should be able to control up to 40 land units and whatever the limit on navel units which I believe is 20.

good question.. hoping 40 land + 20 navy units.. but im not sure how it will work with embarked units on transportships, can those attack warships? or only disembark so you have to protect them with your dedicated fleet from enemy ships.. or will they be able to do both and the unit will flip from navy to land as soon as you disembark them..

It'll probably be max 40, regardless of unit type.

    20 land + 20 land
20 land + 20 sea (or vice versa)
    20 sea + 20 sea

That's another good question. In the Battle of the Nile we saw it looked like the victory condition for the Romans was prolly capturing that flag on the hill, but that's a historical battle, so I assume it's different than regular battles.

That makes the most sense to me. Maybe someone from CA will see the thread and can clarify.

Seems to me if it was 40 land + 20 sea, that could make it a little tricky to control both the army and the fleet at the same time.
