    Default E3 Video

seeing as how Ive seen some threads talking about the interview. Some people dont really know whats going on. Well there was a live action video of gameplay from E3 with an interviewer asking questions. To be honest he could have asked better questions if you ask me. But anyway heres the video.

The problem for me is that the graphics no longer look completely cartoon like. With Medieval 2 it wasn't as apparent because the graphical detail and the seriousness of the gameplay mechanics didn't provide two polar opposites. Now that the models better represent real people, with height and facial differences, it's a tad jarring to see them fly up fifteen feet into the air belly up just because some horses crashed into them.

Thanks, appreciate the consideration of a link to the interview, was lacking elsewhere.

Wow that's some hard hitting reporting. Perhaps he is looking for a 60 minutes spot. Despite the antagonism, I like the venting of frustration, perhaps could have been more constructive.

yea for some reason it seemed they had the quality setting on low to show that you could play it on lower end machines. along with small unit sizes. The Tuetonberg forest looked more high def and had better graphics I think

The interviewer represented your average buyer of this game. He obviously wasn't the most enthusiastic TW fan, but imagine how annoying it would have been if a fella from this forum was the interviewer and started hounding the poor guy from CA about the sandals being the wrong type of leather and chariot wheel diameters being too large.

sometimes I wonder if I can visit the land of imagination as you do.
maybe one day... but not today...

@Kinjo, all we got out of him was an i5... and at the end he was ******** about not seeing elephants.
what is interesting is that he appeared so bored but as soon as BF4 (which is basically BF3 recycled) he was a completely different person.

a total douche no doubt about it.

Yeah, totaly like from land of imagination, called "TWC in nutshell"
I dont know, interviewer seemed pretty objective average guy to me, but maybe its because i dont jerk off to my imaginated projection of Rome II TW each night.

Good God, is that it by the way from E3?

Interviewer sounding as disappointed as I feel right now, unbelievable.

Charming. But seriously, the guy was a complete ass. He spent the first couple of minutes almost sounding disgusted at the notion of a PC only game when all the buzz is about the new consoles. Then he starts asking about the campaing map and 'how much time you play at this view' and its clear he's probably never touched a TW game at all and he just sounded completely bored/disinterested. Then he starts going on about system specs, before complaining about a capture point being 'gamey' and then awkwardly whining about not seeing more elephants for a couple of minutes at the end, bringing an end to a 10 minute 'interview' which was supposed to be 20, in order to rush onto another far more exciting console FPS they've already given a lot of coverage too.

I guess we shouldn't be surprised, this is 'mainstream' E3 coverage after all.

    ******** that interviewer didn't have a clue

Martin Gaston: "how is it going to look on my PC"
    Al: "so what's your PC"
    Martin Gaston: "uh uh uh"
    Al: "it will look great!"

Well that sapped my enthusiam a bit. Some more arcadey elements there. Graphically it didn't look all that impressive, but maybe it was just the quality of the video. I still have serious concerns about the AI, as usual. Once again they're showing us pre-scripted historical battles instead of real-time battles . I was pleasantly surprised to hear the interviewer ask about the AI, and I wasn't so surprised to hear the dev give a pretty non-informative answer. "Your gonna see some great AI" - gee, never heard that before.

In general didn't see a whole lot of new stuff here. On the plus side the campaign map looks pretty nice, and ridiculously huge. I like the look of the cities and visual indications of new buildings and expansion. I wish they went more in depth with this video, they really didn't show much at all. Not a good confidence builder.

Thanks for this Sun, watching now. Before I have begun I see lots of negativity from folks around here...

I think the interviewer was about to cry at the end...

Liked the video. Nothing ground breaking, but good to see. I loved how cities will expand on the campaign map as they grow.

Am I the only one who thought the Siege equipment for the egyptians was a bit silly big?

EDIT: Thanks Sun for the video, only thread I could find to watch it!

The siege weapons were indeed... enormous. Looked like they might well possibly lunch missiles rather than bolts.

    I would so buy that.

Also, I sense the pride that PC RTS-players have is cracking down on the interviewer pretty hard right now.
