Difficult to predict, but a fully patched Rome II should be really great at best, and merely above average at the very worst.

This game is same engine since empire total war. In shogun 2 they finally, FINALLY, fixed the desynch bug, which persisted for the first 18 months of shogun 2. They're really had tons of time, troubleshooting and tweaking. FOTS showed that.

So my expectations are high honestly. While I feel I should know better due to how buggy Shogun 2 was, my cynical side tells me that they made good money off it and now have some wind in the 'ol sails right now. Plus I think they are all probably more motivated and excited by Rome than by any other version of TW.

Personally I missed Medieval 2 so I'm hoping medieval 3 is next.

I don't expect it to be super epic, I want it to be, but I don't expect it. I think it will be good, fun to play, but not amazingly awesome like the original Rome.

My expectations are very high, that's the problem with Rome II for me.

If it weren't for the campaign map pictures I'd have voted great, it seems the map's going to screw it over a bit for me though.

So what are the thoughts after the E3 livestream? I saw some basic Alpha issues present gameplay wise.

Lulz. I can't wait to see the fanbois here loose their ****** when something peeves them at release date. The hype and amount of release info for Rome II seems considerably less than for that of Shogun 2, especially with only 3 1/2 months to go. I've a feeling they went a bit to sideways on trying to implement new things, rather than just polishing the improvements they had from Shogun 2 and devoting time to bettering AI. The fact that your're blackmailed into preordering the game just to play as Greek cultures in the Hellenic world automatically lowers the game's ranking.
