As I mentioned in the other rules thread, we did not think on this subject of which we (players) can take while starting the game. So, I think I'll leave the decision to you guys, the thread shall be open till the proposal is finished.
Here is a brief description about the tribes:
City-States: Settled tribes who build and dwell in walled cities and surrounding villages. Inspired from the City States of antiquity.
Strengths: Civilization, disciplined forces, and ability to grow settlements and build walled cities and large warships.
Weaknesses: Not as numerous as barbarians, people prefer peace to warmongering, troops not fierce or barbaric.
Northmen: Tribes of the northern isle. Dwell and hunt in the harsh frozen lands.
Strengths: Fierce, ability to withstand hardship, warrior tradition peoples, can build longboats for fast and far troop movement, moderately numerous.
Weaknesses: Lacks disciplined troops, penalty for being at peace in long time, troops may exceed orders, longboats no match for warships, lacks cavalry unless absorbed from other tribes.
Men of the Far-lands: Tribes of the lands east and northeast of civilization. Tribes move and settle at their wish. Fight on either horse or foot, or both.
Strengths: Fierce, ability to adapt to change, can move fast and settle easily, numerous tribe numbers, have horses.
Weaknesses: Lacks disciplined troops, penalty for being at peace in long time but people may get tired of fight too, not as fierce as Northmen.
