I hate Opera!

One of the things that keeps me from using Opera as my default browser is this little glitch or problem that I have with it all the time.

Basically, Opera tends to stall a lot while trying to access and load a different page. Let's say I click on that "Member List" link at the top of the screen, or any link; well, if I'm lucky Opera will load it regularly, but more than often it tends to stall for a period of anywhere from 20 seconds upto 1-2 minutes before loading the damn page! Basically, it just stays on the page I originally was and takes forever to actually even access the damn link I clicked on. Needless to say, it's extremely annoying and frustrating and I'm beginning to hate Opera.

I don't have this problem with any other browser. Firefox works just fine, and even IE doesn't have this problem.

Anyone know what I'm talking about? Or better yet, anyone know how to fix it?

I know what you're talking about. All I can say is make sure you have the latest version. I had this problem also, but not anymore.

As General_Sun already mentioned, upgrade to the last version.

Opera is at the moment only browser that have passed Acid2 webstandard test.

When I use Opera it has trouble accessing media files like video streaming etc, apart form that it's fine.

Isn't that what got the crocodile hunter in the end?

My final advice on this topic is never to do online banking with these current browsers. Paying your bills online is very convenient, but I'd be wary of that as well.

Opera is amazing. I love it. IE is still terrible, though better than before. Mozilla is about the same as always, very good, but not great.

I love Opera. Not quite as functional as Firefox (video streaming and other plugins, for example), but mouse shortcuts are great for the lazy :wink:

I like Firefox for PC and Safari for Mac. If Firefox worked as well on macs as it does on a PC, it would be awesome. I especially like having several tabs as my home page.

Being Italian saying you hate Opera is almost sacrilege.

When I view forums in Opera all the text is centre aligned any idea I switch it back to left aligned?

So do you do that yourself or are your posts inevitably centered? (You could probably change the text in the options panel, I have never used Opera but my guess is that there is some option to justify text left, right, or center.)

I started to move away from using opera, until a few days ago, I figured out it could download torrent files with its built in bittorrent client, now I am using it more again.

Use Bitcomet or other programs and you have more functionality, like choosing which files in a torrent to download.

The new IE coming out should be safer so whatever you can't/won't do in Opera, do in the new IE. I tried Firefox and I didn't like using it as much as Opera because of the Firefox interface options. Also, I haven't had any problems with this website when using Opera.

Sorry, but IE has blown it for me.
Too many times have I gotten a virus from using it, I would never use it again no matter how safe mr Gates claims it to be.

What exactly are "mouse shortcuts"? and what make them so great?
