Default movement traits - silly thing

I've been playing a little in EB and I noticed that generals often have movement restriction traits like summer, winter, exhausted, dying in bed and others. -45% movement restriction points it's much. Anyway this restriction causes, that it's better to keep the general next to the army(what isn't historically at all). Especially that they mostly get bad traits. It's annoying, when you can't plan a move in the next turn, because the general has problems with himself. I know they wanted it to be historically, but in this case did not work well. So my observation is.
I think it be better when all units in region have movement restriction in winter or summer. Then there would be no reason to keep the general next to the army. Triats like bored, exhausted and others happen too often. Once they are, then they're gone. They change too often. Through this game becomes unpredictable

so much that the generals just disturb in the campaign. That's what I wanted to write.
Is somewhere thread: What annoys me in EB, because this thread fit there :-)

    Game limitations apply here.

Also there are ways to circumvent this
    • NEVER exhaust a generals movement points
    • pick generals with a vigorous trait
    • if he's exhausted leave him be until those tired traits disappear
    • If they are bored then take him for a walk. It actually works(i suppose as long as his movement points are used up).
    • If seasonal restrictions are in place then simply don't do anything. You could learn a thing or two from Napoleon and Hitler.
all hail the flying spaghetti monster!

I can't really do much here other than repeat what Yuezhi said and add on to it. This aspect of the trait system, like most other things, is simply about managing your characters. As stated above, do not exhaust a general's movement points, as that is considered Forced Marching by the game and will most likely gain him some bad temporary trait. Also as stated above, don't just pick a random General and decide "You're going to be my General" or "You're going to be my governor for this town." Look at their traits. Vigorous FMs make better Generals and Languorous FMs make better governors. It's all about knowing which one is good for which job. I'd advise that you always try and choose a Langourous FM to be a governor as they get bored less easily. And yes, expending a bored FM's movement points actually does get rid of the trait. In fact, it is a good idea to give them a walk every few turns. Just think of it as... I don't know, some kind of trip to do something they like doing.

In the end it just comes down to playing smart and knowing how to manage your family members.

what? having them was a really great addition, it changed the gameplay towards the better, made the player think and decide.

thanks for tips. In fact the traits system in EB is quite complicated.
