Default Read this before posting any new threads about modding !!!

Hi guys, ive been compelled to make this thread about modding since quite a few people are still complaining.

First and foremost i want to let everyone know that tools such as the assembly kit will probably be released for Rome II just as they were with Shogun II.

    Now onto business.

Contrary to what everyone's saying, we must thank and acknowledge CA because due to these tools we are now able to edit, customize and create a new map altogether !!!

Here are a few examples from an old thread, taken from the master of Campaign map editing himself, Spartan_warrior

And of course the other function of the supertexture, which is the parchment map:

As you can see the map is completely editable and here it has been remade to show Greece and Britain.

Features such as mountains and rivers can be added to create a totally new and unique map and although it might be a little harder than usual, im sure Rome II will also be like this.

In regards with creating and editing factions, units, regions and colors then the following links contain detailed tutorials on this site which show you how to do all this.

So whether you want to make middle earth or skyrim, you now know it can be done

in light of this divine revelation, i hereby request that from now on people think before making useless threads about modding abilities (to be honest i wouldn't have even made this had i not seen another thread begging CA for modability).

    thank you

This thread needs to be stickied to give me another reason to verbally abuse anyone who complains about moddability.

    No one reads the sticky.

Here's something else besides cheap yari or cheap yumi mods.

Alas, the moderators will probably lock it and the intelligent people on the forum will have to endure more "WHY Y NO MAEK MAP MODDABUHL" threads.

Impressive does it have anything to do with the tactical maps?

we'll have to wait and see but im sure if you can edit the campaign map and the minimap, with new textures and what have you, then im also sure that you the tacmap will reflect this

and even if it doesnt, im sure alot of us are still happy

I hope the current map is not at it's hardcoded limits and will allow modders to further push east and north.
maybe we can even add more depth to the severely lacking greece.

Awesome, so we may yet one day see the return of the modding golden age, once we all learn to use those tools.

your right it is a long way away from what we need, but if people are soo passionate about modding then they should know that it takes time and effort, hopefully CA will take this on board when releasing the next set of tools

It's not impossible though like a lot of people think it is.

What they said is that now that there no more more technical hurdles the rest of what needs to be done is long, tedious and complicated.
Which isn't the same thing as the map not being moddable.

Yeah.. cause we all know how Shogun 2 has been modded to death. You don't seem very assured of yourself with your "probably" "sure"'s and "if"'s plastered all over your posts. "harder than usual" and an incomplete map of Britain and Greece is not very reassuring either.

OP: did you even bother to check that "old" thread (from last week) re modding you referred to? Why do you think that NONE of the large mods use the Warscape engine? It's a simple question, you can answer it in the other thread.

Because the people making them are too lazy to actually learn how to use the tools and prefer to fart out realism mod after realism mod for Rome 1 and Medieval 2.

The people from The Great War would be unhappy if you didn't consider their mod large enough for mention.
