Played that when I was really young, way before I came to PC and even knew what Total War was. Memories! That was amazing. But yeah, this is Total War and it's all about strategy, not taking direct control of unit. I kind of don't even like the feature of manually controlling siege engines...but hope it just doesn't go past that.

I would not approve of those features, if you want to play Ryse play Ryse, If you want to play Rome 2 play Rome 2.
First person hack & slash does not belong to the total war series.

You're ****ing kidding me, right? THIS is your "ideal" for Rome 2? For REAL?

You already can get so close to the action, in First person or "above the shoulder" in Rome 2. The thing is, from what we've seen, Rome 2 animations leave this hack'n'slash 300-rip-off in the dust trying to remember what its name is.

If you had been paying attention, you would've seen mocaps and finished animations that are ****ing awesome, brutal and horrifying.

Personally I think that game looks really nice. I would even buy it but I think it's for xbox only? I'm sure all the history fanatics will soon come and bash it saying it's the worst game ever blah blah... (without even playing it of course) and only dumb 12 year old kids with short attention span will play it (Or what the stereotypes were, can't remember). Except of course it wasn't even meant to be historically accurate.

Of course it wouldn't be good idea to see those features in Rome 2 imo. So keep those two games separate.

1) Ok, but people in real life aren't that hyped about running towards death, they are scared and they ****** themselves, and hopefully Rome II will let us hear that, with soldiers being scared (An elephant, run for your lives!!! Aaarghh!!!!!)
2) You mean the over the shoulder camera? Yeah, it will look great with animations and such, but don't expect someone to pick up a guy with his gladius in that ridiculous way
3) That's what Total War does, form over the shoulder to field view
4) The over the shoulder camera (near) will be realistic, but not in the sense of Ryse, because that is not realistic, that is Hollywood
