Default A few questions about subfactions.

I've got a few questions about subfactions that I would like answered:
    1. Will subfactions be able to recruit their own unique units?
    2. Is there going to be a hard cap on subfactions? If so what is the cap?
    3. Will it be possible for different subfactions to have their own political structures, IE the Junii could have the eldest son assume control of the clan while the Julii could elect their own leader?

    1. Some subfactions will likely have a few uniques; Dacia, Thrace, a spanish one, scythians. The "major" subfactions as such. Many will use a generic roster i guess.

    2. From what i hear no.

    3. I think so, all barbarians aim to unite or something like that i think, possibly be a similar mechanic for others.

I'd post more but its late and im tired

Um by subfactions I mean the noble families or tribes or whatever inside a main faction, IE the Julii, Corneliae and the Junii.

Subfaction s wont be 'factions' per say. More just a government party within the players control. The only time i can imagine them appearing would be Julii revolt, but using the same roster as the faction they revolt from.

    1. Probably not. What would these units be anyway?
    2. So far we know of three subfactions, but we don't know how federations will work. It's entirely possible that once a federation is created, the previous tribes will become subfactions; we do know that there will be a Council of Elders, which is reported to be above the factional level(may be faulty reporting). My guess is that three will be a practical cap, since adding more subfactions would involve more creative work and might make the political mechanics prone to buggy behavior. That is just a personal opinion, but again, we have "seen" three subfactions for each faction that is to be playable.
    3. Probably not, because they have to function together and use the same mechanisms. BTW the Romans would never go that way, you know. The concept of Paterfamilias ruled. They'd never go for election, that's a barbaric custom used mainly by the Celtic tribes
