    Default Rome II BETA

Before Shogun 2 was released, beta was available a month before. Do you think beta will be available in early august? If so then it's less than 2 months before we can try the game. I definitely hope there will be a beta available. Because i can't wait much longer and so hyped Can't wait much longer to lay my hands on Rome 2. Beta PLEASE.

We may well see a demo prior to release, but certainly not a public beta.

    LOL!

I do hope they release a demo with one of the historical battles. Either Nile battle or Carthage would be fun seeing as how they're naval/land combos and that's a big new feature.

Hopefully it wont be as bad as Shogun 2 release. Loads of bugs and DX11 didn't work before after a few months.

Beta? It was a demo. I'm sure will be a demo in August 2013.

Maybe the demo would be Rome vs Egypt.

Total War: Rome II - Another of SEGA's PC-exclusives, Total War: ROME II will be playable for the very first time at E3 where players will take part in battles between Egypt and Rome along the Nile.

it would be nice of them to release a beta, but with all the complaining and whining that happens when they release just a simple 2 min movie clip, i would not blame them if they just released the game sep 3rd. is it just me or does this community have the most whiners and nitpickers anyone has ever seen?

You seem to be misunderstanding why betas exist... You're not supposed to be thinking "On boy! I get to play Rome II early!" You should be thinking about putting it through tests, like specific units, look for glitches etc. I don't think they'll do a beta this time round.

^ This post speaks the truth, and I find it funny that beta's have now become synonymous with demo's. Demo's are to show off the game, beta's are to test it - the two got conflated when companies responded to the extensive complaining by idiots during beta's that there were bugs (... in a ****ing BETA) and made beta's less and less about testing, and more about showing off how few bugs there were. Thus beta's and demo's became forever conflated -.-

Sorry, i meant demo. But it's not possible to change the thread title. I know what alpha and beta means, I've done loads of reports. Now recently in Arma III.

Icon1 [Sugg] Open Beta like CoH 2?

Well I play Company of Heroes 2 open beta at the moment (Total War series and Company of Heroes are my favorite strategy games) so I had the idea why not also make it for Rome 2 (for everyone who pre purchased it)?

Maybe not starting right now but for example in early august. As the game runs through steam it wouldn't be that much difficult to keep it up to date I think

The advantage for CA is that they find more bugs and can fix them BEFORE official launch (they said in one E3 interview that the game is nearly in beta status and they will mostly hunt bugs then). Also maybe some small stuff could be changed based on the community feedback.

So how do you think about this idea ( If everything went right a poll should be in this Thread)?

If one of the CA guys reads this feel free to answer it

    Edit:

The Open Beta should be mainly to find and merge out bugs, not for entertainment use only so CA maybe could make some feedback polls for each player who plays it (before they play they have to accept this) which have to be answered when the Beta ends (for example 3 days before the release).

I know there will be many players than who use the beta just to play and don't look for bugs but with such a poll at its end CA would at least get a little bit feedback.
