Tactical advantage of individuals being able to soak up multiple missiles...
Personally, I haven't seen threads on this so thought I'd make one. Apologies if there is one, but I haven't seen any. In the siege of Carthage gameplay, when Scipio's unit disembark from the siege towers and get onto the walls, there is a volley of Carthaginian javelins which fly at the Romans but get stuck into the Carthaginian soldiers in the way.
If you look closely, you could see one of those Carthaginian defenders get stuck by multiple projectiles. I personally thought this was amazing!! I was quick to start thinking about the tactical advantages this could bring. Imagine if there were skirmishers or archers and you wanted to take them out, and you had a designated unit of your own (any fast moving unit) you wanted to catch them but the enemy missile units were defiant in getting their volley off.
I could see this being a good feature because when your unit is running toward the enemy missile unit, the front line of guys in your unit should soak up those missiles and the guys behind would be able to keep going.
Firing from far away is obviously going to be more dangerous as there is a higher trajectory and it could get more guys etc. but I personally like this feature. I'd really like to hear your thoughts on this feature that is in the game. Tell me what you like about it, and how you think it would add to the gameplay. Let me know what you think of feature in general.
