Installed wrong version?

Hello,

I installed RTR 6.0 from http://www.rometotalrealism.com/, but I just realized there was ANOTHER RTR 6.0 Gold version from http://www.rometotalrealism.net/. The file sizes for these two installs are very different. So which one should I have installed? There's also this RTR 6.0 Platinum version, should I install that as well?

The short answer is yes you installed the wrong one!

The one you want is on www.totalrealism.net if it's working at present. 6.0 Gold is the latest official version and works with RTW patched to 1.2. RTRPE (Platinum) works with RTW patched to 1.5. There is a new version of this due out real soon 1.7.

As Sabretooth said. You need to go to http://www.totalrealism.net/ to get the last version of RTR. The RTR Team is no longer connected with the .com site so don`t go there anymore. You can read about it on the .net. Now about your question regarding RTR Platinum. You should not install it over RTR 6 Gold. They are for different versions of RTW.
RTR Platinum is basically a direct port of RTR 6 Gold(which was for the engine of RTW v1.2) to the engine of RTW v1.5(the final one). You can also play it with the BI.exe. What it brings is mainly improved AI and some features like night battles and some fixes. If you decide to go for Platinum, here is the link to RTR Platinum sub-forum:
