Medieval II total war encountered an unspecified error...

Hi everybody, my first time on the forums!

Anyway, I recently re installed Medieval II total war without issues. I then opened it, and the bit right after the old guy is talking while writing on the parchment, the notification comes up and the game closes. Any help?

Welcome to the forums.

Try disabling the UAC and reinstalling the game, if it doesn't work try this:

Right-click the C: drive icon, click properties, click the Security tab, click Advanced, click Ownership tab, click on you Administrator login if it's not picked, click the box down the left side about including all child folders and files, click okay.
The rest just click okay for everything Windows won't let you own.

If nothing works, try asking irishron.

Thanks for the advice, but I am admin of my own PC so disabling the UAC shouldn't do anything?

Anyway, I PM'd Irishron, so he should be able to assist me

Disable it. The game hates it.
