Hi guys, I have an idea for a small submod and how it would work but no idea of how to make it work.
Currently in the game, characters age slowly and often live much longer than is natural (or much, MUCH shorter). My idea is to make some characters live up to whatever the maximum limit is while having other characters dying sooner. I was wondering if traits could be used to increase chance of death.
For example, the trait 'Old' would kick in for Rohan/Dale/Rhun/Harad/Orc factions when a character reaches around 55. It would reach 'Very Old' at 70 and 'Practically Ancient' at 90. Each one would give a tiny chance of death each turn (0.2/1/4% chances respectively). Also, as age progresses, other things like movement range, fertility and possibly even authority would decrease. Agents for each faction would also get these traits once they reach ages although spies and especailly assassins may find their skill deteriorates rapidly (or maybe in age they learn to hire apprentices that they can train to spy/kill for them at the same level?)
Obviously, unlike comon evils, Nazgul, Saruman and Sauron get 'Immortal' as an anti-trait.
For Eriador, Gondor (being Dunedain) and Dwarves, the ages would appear much later (205, 220, 250) and have the percentages (0.05, 0.4, 1) to show time having a lesser effect.
Naturally Elves are immune to all the mortality **** and don't care.
I've looked at modding guides and if this were possible, it seems easy to those who know how to do this but I don't understand the files in enough detail to do this task.
Help? (Well really I'm asking someone to do this for me. I'm just ideas man. You'd get full (40-60%) credit for completeing this project and many reps. Thanks in advance for anyone interested.
