Default Problem with steam (not the usual)

    Hello everyone.
Well I installed SS in my new computer with Windows 7. I could normally play SS 6.3, but when I installed the 6.4 patch I got some problems with Steam. My MIITW isnt a Steam version, but I do have Steam installed, so the SS installer recognized it. When I launch the mod, the launcher ask to click on Yes if I have Steam, or No if I dont have steam installed. But doesnt matter which are my choices, I have a CTD.
So how do I get SS 6.4 to work ?

Edit: If it helps, I tried this already and nothing =/

Hey man. I had the same problem, my advice, re-install by following the guide(with pictures) on the main page of this section in the forums and then don't install to steam. By doing that you should not get a CTD when you start. If you try to install to Steam again do so at your own risk of getting the same CTD again. That's how I resolved my issues. Hope this helps. Peace.

That's the problem, I dont install to steam, the SS launcher recognize the steam but the game is installed at C:\Program Files (x86)\SEGA\Medieval II Total War, and my game is not a steam version. I re-installed 3 times already but nothing changes.

your issue is ss6.3 works fine, is installing the ss6.4 patch. Which is probably caused by one of two issues. Install mtw2 and the mods outside program files. and Right Click run as admin on ss6.3.exe and ss6.4.exe.

theres directions in the guide in my signature.

Thank you Losthief, I installed at C:\Games and it worked.
