Any information on the Major Events during the campagne?

Hi,

I haven't yet played much shogun 2 and i totally skiped empire (gotta have melee in a total war game) but in medieval 2, you always had big Events like discovering america, the mongol invasion and others. This feature increased the long time motivation and i really liked it.
I don't know if they kept using this for the later games esp. considering that empire and shogun had way less years to work with.
However, i haven't heard anything for rome 2 and was hoping that maybe someone in here knows anything about it.

I really hope that will not be scripted event like the mongol one. It kills replaybility of the game, since, on you second campaign, you'll know where and when they would came from, without the surprise aspect.

lol what surprise? you never hear of the mongol invasion before you played the game?
its wasn't about surprising you, it added a challange and you had to prepare yourself plus dealing with all the other stuff.
at least you had diffrent things you had to look for.

I agree with Vastor. Though, often in my MED2 games I'd forget about the Mongols somehow and be SOL when they came.

It'll be like Shogun 2. Events will be random and triggered by things that you do in game. If you keep things well balanced then you shouldn't see much.

In Shogun 2 for example.

If you go full out in farm industries you get an event that says you earned a surplus of food for your faction.

yea thats not really a big event. i mean a big historical event that will change the game you play depending which faktion you play or which region you control.
otherwise all you do is expanding.

The only big events I see are the civil wars which you trigger.

The rest according to the articles are seemingly small innocent ones but together can formulate massive changes (think Mass Effect here. The first choice will affect the choices available in the 2nd event, etc. leading to a major conclusion depending on how you handled it)

Events and Dilemmas (similar to the Shogun 2 system) can also be triggered due to the state of the internal politics – the more balanced things are, the fewer events are triggered. No individual event is meant to be ‘game-changing’, but you can get a chain of events that could lead to drastic outcomes.
