    Default Old books

Hey guys, today when looking through some boxes I found this book and with some help from Grim I Think I figured out what its date is and so on. The front pages are in od Italian and the text is in latin.

I will copy some down -

Elementi Delle Leggi Civili Romane (I think its italian)

    Divisi in Quattro Libri
    ed esposti nell Italiana favella

    Dall'Abate Giuseppe Dall'olio
    Giureconculto Romano

    M. Tulli
    Ciceronis
    Epistolarum
    AD
    Pamiliares
Letters of Marcus Tulius Cicero to [I think] Pamiliares, though that last is pure guesswork
    Quote:
    Libri XVL

Book 35, so presumably letter 35 really.
    Quote:
Cum Selectis (I think) Variantibus Lectionibus

    With various selected speeches

    VENETIIS MDCCLXXXVII

    Venice, 1787.

I posted some random info from it, and I thought I'd post in the History because
    - You history buffs might know something about old books
    - To see what other old books some people have.

If anyone can help me find out more about this old book and its worth, please contact me.
Well, if I, Belisarius, the Black Prince, and you all agree on something, I really don't think there can be any further discussion.

    Divided in 4 books
    exposed in the Italian language
    By the Abbot Giuseppe Dall'Olio

Thats it, its the 4th Edition, the first being published in the late 1600's and this one in the 1780's.

My great-grandfather actually had a first edition copy of this (or another Cicero) at some point as I understand it, and I've been told by my great-uncle (who received it later) that most early editions from classical Roman authors are valued highly among collectors - though this one being more obscure would probably be a little more valuable. You could probably find someone on google that could report an accurate worth.

One good place you could contact, particularly if you were interested in selling it, is http://www.forumrarebooks.com/forum/ . I browse around it every now and then, but I'm fairly sure relatives of mine have dealt similarly with them

See, that's what I thought, but assumed Bel must be telling me what it was accurately...
