Armenian Kentrokan Spearman and Other units

So I've been playing for a while off and on but one(well a few) of the major things that bug me is that Kentrokan spearman...don't seem to have spears. They're always getting right up to sword-to-sword fighting but never spears(which is why I've stopped using them entirely). Another thing is that the Kappadokes and Azat are the same unit, same attack, same defense, same javelin damage, and...the Kappadokes just costs about 200ish more. There are a few other units like that...what gives?

In RTW units will always charge with the secondary weapon, sometimes is necessary to order a second atack to have them back to their spears. Could that be it what you are referring to?
