Can't answer if your going to write stuff like this.Or decrease, objects with increasing card.
Why make a poll but hide the results? lol
I'd rather they make the map a bit larger. I mean, it looks beautiful, and Alexandria looks really cool, but why the hell is it so ridiculously large? Its quite immersion breaking when a city takes up such a massive area and, correct me if I am wrong, but is there not any farmland along the nile either? And where is the Sphinx?
The sense of scale is just way off.
There is absolutely no value to realism in the game whatsoever, and that's why aliens and lasers must be added immediately! Since aliens and lasers are fun, and realism is meaningless in a game, ETW must have aliens and lasers. - akd
The map was made so large so it could fit the cities in it
Seems like a poor rip off from civ V IMO,even the characters on the map have icons above just like the units in civ V
Sorry but the poll is titled something different from the thread, so I answered based on the poll. I actually think they could put in more things on the map and make it be more realistic instead of just a few LARGE mountains to represents hundreds of mountains.
I totally get what you are all saying, but I think it's also just an issue with the zooming in and flying around that is giving us such a distorted view. Can't be 100% sure on that, but my opinion at this point.
The proportions of the mountains and Rome/large cities seem not only a bit overdone but massively so. I understand they have to show players where to click and some growth of cities from turn 1 to turn 300 but even then Rome looks a bit too sprawling if we assume it is close to turn 300 for Caesar to be invading Egypt. Doubt they will change anything now but the wonders are a tiny bit too large in my opinion. I feel like CA considers gamers to be blind or something as they also have left the missiles in battles rather large so it looks like lightning bolts firing into enemy.
The sides of the mountains- particularly larger mountains seem quite bare as well... no tree line? Also the proportions of mountains in Italy and Anatolia compared to Alps?
It also seems the passes and ways through mountains are highly restricted. I can understand in Alps but in Italy or Anatolia? How in the world conquer Anatolia overland? It appears only naval landings will be able to accomplish it in reasonable amount of time unless armies are more easily moving over mountains than I'd guess.
The water, trade routes, and scale of cities when zooming in appears about right and very cool effect if we can actually scroll, pan, and zoom on campaign map. Since we are blinded by clouds zooming down to city level I am not sure how the map handles the max zoom shown at start down to street level. The summer setting with clouds seems interesting and I wonder what CA plans for other weather effects.
Battles look interesting and hopefully the glimpse we saw was 3x speed or whatever and the normal tactics aren't charging straight forward. Probably for the trailer that was done but I really want to see some battle footage not manipulated for marketing.

I would prefer to see it directly on my screen before voting. I can't vote only on the base of a video.
Fewer in number, no. Smaller in size, yes. Relatively speaking of course. Same could be achieved by making the map larger.

I like what i saw, more artistic. I hope it will stay, actually im pretty sure they won't change it this late in development.
The map looks totally awesome, but I have to agree: Italy nearly consists only of ridiculously high mountains. And the settlements, compared to the territory, are also extremely large (much more than in previous titles).
One could of course also enlarge the map in total, but in my opinion in that case it has to be increased by at least 2 or 3 its size.
