The Great War Mod for NTW!
Read the links one by one, after you watch the video of course, and it is easily managable![]()
Well I did notice that the number of visitors on the site was dwindling in the rome 2 part, E3 and Rezzed are coming up so there had to be a reveal, and there has been little or no information since Rally Point 13... seems pretty obvious something was going to be released now looking back.
thread updated + new link and picture.
Damn the cities look so much better on the campaing map then in shogun it's astonishing
'I'll be damned ' Marcellus Wallis
The pictures are awsome. I don't understands most of the upsets of some people nor the necessity of modders to correct nothing wrong till now.
We can appreciate the level of details that are far than we could even image. The details of the characters is very high too. I don't bother if the cities look too big. It's obvious if you are using the same engine for the battles and the maps. I would suggest to play the game before ranting at this pointless aspect. About the troops shown it's ok that we see some bronze age aegyptians but we don't see the other core units. Since the characters on the strategic map are using Hellenistic style models we can espects also troops of the same type.
I can only say that this is going to be epic and I hope people will reconsider their thoughs when they will paly the game.
Do I have a complete list of articles, videos, and OFFICIAL pictures? If not, help us out![]()

Nothing special though, it's just about the new trailer.
Also, I'm very interested in this ( found it in http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/t...preview.html):
Victory Conditions - Every Playable faction has their own set of Economic, Cultural and Military victory conditions that you can change between on the fly, depending on what’s going on, or simply what you feel like. Military is more similar to the old ‘Domination’ mode of past games – having a certain number of territories, but also a certain amount of armies and navies. Economic conditions would have a smaller region requirement, but you have to be making a certain amount of money, have a certain amount of trade partners, and have certain buildings built. We weren’t given any information about what a culture victory might entail.
I don't know...to be honest I expected a lot more from the campaign map, it looks spot on the picture showing sinope, egypt just doesn't look good to me for some reason.
Not a big fan of the minimalistic ui either, thought thats just me.
this is me right now
If you work to earn a living, why then do you work yourself to death?
more unofficial pics added - including zoomed in on the mini maps.
Campaign map looks great. The armies look a little boring, I would have preferred the General style unit instead of what looks like the old Captain. However, maybe armies change their appearance as they gain experience and traits? If so, that would be even cooler.
Really like how in 47BC, there are still unconquered regions in the north and such. That could mean the smaller factions are not complete pushovers, and diplomacy with them may be more profitable then just conquering everything. Looks like that while conquering yourself an empire is still the end goal, you can't get a 45 region empire in 50-60 turns like in some of the other games.
Love it!
The only disappointment is Alexandria (battle map) is too small
In the campaign map its bigger.
The Strategy Informer article definitely has the best info. They clearly state some the types of battles present and how they are triggered:
Whilst this may not be the full list, we’ve managed to get a rundown of the different types of battles that a player could experience whilst playing Rome 2.
On the Land, these are: Walled City battles, Settlement Outskirts battles, field battles, combined land/sea coastal battles, River battles (as in, attacking/defending across a river), Encampment battles (when you attack a fortified army), Ambush battles (which we’re told will be very different to previous games) and Supply Train battles, which is what happens when you’re attacking an army that’s force-marching.
On the Navy side, there are: Port siege battles, open sea battles and of course the land/sea coastal battles.
