You guys still don't think the map is large enough?
Egypt looks like it's the size of at least 1/5 of Japan's area in Shogun 2.

All I'm worried about is the armies not being big enough (AKA, 20 cards)
How is that disappointing?
It's already been made very clear Rome 2's real time battles will be a modified version of what players got in Shogun 2.
At the rate of speed battles go ( in Shogun 2), a bunch of units just means blobbing. No strategy at all. You take your eyes off for 10 seconds, oops unit dead.

Judging from the first screenshot the campaign map is pretty colossal.

Not a fan of the UI though. I prefer my options to be at the top.

Glad to see the overwhelming impassable terrain in Shogun 2 is gone. At least for Africa.

Petra, I'd say.
Beautiful. Excellent job, CA!
Notice the year in the corner, 271 BC. And it looks like it is not the first turn either, judging by the provinces held by Egypt.
YEEAAH! that means Pyrrhus will likely still be king.
Also, my new home: SPARTA!!!

A small observation. on the left Jerusalem there are 2 yellow fleets wich, based on previous screenshots, appear to be Pontic. That means, for Pontus to have gathered such a fleet and to have moved around anatolia would have taken atleast 3 turns, 1 to build them, 2 (at the very least) to move them. that would make a starting date of 275 bc highly likely.
