I don't know but those cities look 100x more detailed than the ones in the other Total War games.
I don't recall any of the cities being the size of Alexandria or Athens or as detailed.
As for the lands...this is more detailed than Rome 1. If you're talking about them removing the small villages I can see that though I'd say wait and see until we get more information out.
Didn't know there were only two cities in Greece...
What about all the other major economical and cultural cities of the ancient world?
The map is so much lifeless...
Cliffs mean that people can't just land anywhere!!! HELL YEAH!!! More strategy involved haha. Love it, CA![]()
Well a logical person would assume total war Rome 2 the screenshots would have Rome in it.
love the map, just wish Greece didn't look so bare, where is Thebes? byzantum? some names i can't spell but there should be 2 other towns on the other side and cornith above sparta![]()
I'm loving the style of the campaign map, and I'm excited that it stretches farther than RTW's did, but I have one issue. Is any one else a little bothered by the geographical representation of southern Greece? It just looks a little too blobby to me. I'm definitely not asking for it to be perfect, but I feel like the natural geography makes Greece an interesting area.
Could just be an alpha stage thing that they'll sort out, but over the years I've learned better than to make too many assumptions about what'll change from alpha.
Have noticed the small port on the opposite shore of Sparta? It's like fixed on the cliffs. What can be?
Look at purple color in the east , Is that my lovely Parthia ?
Guys , Is that man dressed in white a Roman diplomat ? f its true we're going to see diplomats in the game .
The cliffs do in fact mean that you can only land troops at certain locations. I hate this feature. I hated it in Shogun 2, and I'll hate it in Rome 2. It limits gameplay (while streamlining it a bit), makes defending against nautical invasions far too easy, and worst of all, look funking ugly on the campaign! Look at those Aegean islands!

You have a point but you must understand something, that if you were allowed to land anywhere, would you land somewhere the enemy is defending? Answer to that my friend is no. So the chances of actually having a combined land/sea battle is dramatically reduced.
Sooo one takes Sparta and therefore takes the Peleponnese?
Is that Jebus coming over the hill from the west?, he's probably going to rage with fists.
I am getting a little tired of clone maps, I don't see much evolution from rome 1(ten years ago) apart from eye candy(dx11).
