Under the patronage of Nihil. So there.
And when you think Prometheus said in a thread a couple of days ago that he is unhappy that CA has not shown the actual Romans yet in any of their info releases.
And it is a true story! Honestly!
No, they said that will not happen in Rome 2.
RTWRM - back to basics
I find it not "rome total war like" enough but I think it'll make it :p
concerning the hand and aquilas and other emblems on top of armies' flags, it may be the specialization of the army (in the tradition thing) wouldn't it?
Too bad the grand campaign scale cannot cope with such details as the Taygetus mountain, the Parnon Mountain, the Eurotas river and valley...
You know what I miss? The resources. It was really nice to see what each province could provide in terms of trade if you were to conquer it. The map seems so naked without it, especially now that there are so few cities on it. ( I mean in terms of density as compared to the older Rome)

I like the campaign map actually. Its less realistical accurate but it is trying to be recognisable. It is favoring gameplay over realism which is ok because a campaign map could never be 100% realistic when u look at it from above. I can`t quite make out which city belongs to which civilization. I can`t check the minimap or border boundaries eather.
Could have more cities, but it looks too too too beautiful.
If every color = one faction, there must be around 30+ factions on the map. And it looks a lot like the Mundus Magnus map.

Probably. It will allow the player (and AI) to better defend against naval invasions as there will only be a select few areas where landings can take place. This will also result in us getting to actually experience land/sea combined battles. If the player or AI could land pretty much anywhere, I imagine we'd rarely get to play an offensive/defensive naval invasion battle. So although this may be less 'realistic' as such, I approve from a gameplay perspective because damn, I want to play some brutal beach landings!
They always are.
Why not? That would be boss.
There are several factions (117 IIRC or similar) in the game, some of less significance and size than others.
Hopefully all factions more less are distinct from each other.
Mundus Magnus was a great map if they should have taken inspiration from it, then it's fun.

Do you think (or do we know) if smaller cities will be added as resources? Like Empire?

That map seems to show Marble in Sparta. You juts no longer have those silly icons for Shogun 2. Also I think the map looks incredibly beautiful, I'd rather it not cluttered with needless stuff. It's also hard to tell from a screenshot where you don't see stuff like, army animations, trees swaying, animal animations, water moving, various sounds based on map location etc.

Umm, bucking the trend here to say, I'm a bit disappointed. Yeh the few shots I've seen look great, but there doesn't seem to be much more detail than Rome1 and far less than some of the mods released over the years. ie; that shot of Greece, I see Sparta and Athens, but no Corinth! and Sparta seems to dominate a huge area, where are the region details?
