An agent The Champion I believe but not 100% sure tho.

There are three agent-types in Rome 2 – The Champion, The Dignitary and The Spy. For balance purposes they have the same function across all cultures and factions, but some cultures will have “flavour variants”. When agents are spawned, they have a background skill or ‘profession’, which is determined by certain factors with regards to where the agent came from, like culture, for example. These ‘profession’ can be invested in in addition to or instead of the conventional skill-tree.

Agents (along with Generals, Armies, Provinces and Settlements), have a set of three attributes. Each agent as a dominant attribute, so for example, the Spy’s dominant attribute is subterfuge.

The only agent we know some details about is The Champion – passionate warriors, loners, but they are incredibly skilled warriors. Buff certain unit types and help with training when embedded in a friendly army. Can reduce enemy army morale, set traps, harass and can assassinate generals.

This picture is the best explaining the Alexandria is a big city and that the land of the stategic map is the most detailed ever. I can't understand how somepeople are regreating about this.

I like the new chat icon.

Edit: I also like the fact that Sinope seems to be a port-city, which is a new type of settlement, of course we have already seen it with Carthage, but it's nice anyway.

I have a prediction on the minimap. The first expansion pack "Legacy of Alexander/Alexander 2/etc" will open up more of India or at least some of the east. The second expansion pack "Fall of the Roman Empire/Barbarian Invasion 2/etc" Scandinavia and more of eastern europe (Russia, Crimea, etc [The land, not the countries]) will be open; or they'll just leave Scandinavia/Russia for Medieval 3/Empire 2/Victoria TW (Wouldn't that be the dream?).

Wonderful, but the ships look awful. But hopefully they get more detailed until release.

I'm overwhelmed by excitement with all of this, which looks just plain awesome!

But in the negative side, I'm still totally disappointment by the missed opportunity of bringing more simultaneous players to the multiplayer campaign. The biggest campaign map, a 40% increased budget, way more options to play with... and still we're constrained to 2 players campaign at most. My friends and I would love to share the same ancient adventure and I really can't understand why they can't spare some resources on making this possibility turn real. I don't care if a turn takes ages to finish, and if that's annoying to some people it wouldn't matter because it's still an option you can ignore if you want and stick to the single player and the 2 players campaign.

CA, I really don't get you. Is it lazyness?

Damn September seems ages away ... This game is so gorgeous! :drools:
I'm slightly alarmed by the absence of oars on the ships though...

I couldn't help but notice the awesome looking figureheads on both Roman and Ptolemaic ships. Are there actual sources for them, or are they just for made up for immersion? I thought ships couldn't support large figurehead statues until the age of sail. Then again, the Roman ones look light enough to be possible.

The limit of 2 player for multiplayer campaign was the only bad news I heard. I have lots of friends who wouldn't give a crap about turns taking longer if we could all play together, if it's an option, I don't see the overall issue.

I say it again and again, the only solution to have more than 2 players in a online campaign, is the real time. If you want have 10 / 20 players, you need change the system for the real time.

They're probably looking to create a stable multiplayer campaign first of all. More players could be patched in.

Can you choose what part of the city walls to attack? I can see Ptolemaic banners on different parts of the wall, are each of those a place to attack?

Looks like ancient Israel maybe? That reminds me of the Temple of Yahweh because it's multi-layered, and I can see a resemblance of the various structures that pic to the historical depiction of the Temple. It's not the same as modern recreations, but there's definitely some similarities I think.

    As for the Pyramids,

I normally hate the small nitpicks people make, but this is something that should be addressed because of how incredible these structures are. The pyramids should actually be covered in limestone and gold at the top - they should be brilliantly shining in the sun. Maybe CA can fix this before release, or a modder can give the Pyramids the attention they deserve eventually.
