That would look good but with all those things on the ground, it could clog up the CPU quite quickly I reckon. You can expect soldiers to drop weapons because if you watch the Greek Culture Pack Trailer, that Roman soldier who was killed by the Epirus guy on horseback, drops his spear. When it comes to the duration of how long the items stay on the ground for, I doubt it would be for too long. I think the only things that are permanent for the rest of the battle is bodies and maybe craters from onager projectiles if anything. To be honest though, dead bodies themselves (especially of the enemy) make the aftermath look pretty sweet enough

Blood, when it comes as DLC, will be better than what is was like in Shogun 2. I remember reading somewhere that the style of blood in Shogun 2 was created for that specific theme, so when CA releases the blood pack for Rome 2, it will be more gory to fit the antiquity style of pure carnage.

More gory... I like the sound of that. Currently using the Blood N' Guts submod for M2TW, and I must say it is quite satisfying to watch the bloody bodies of my enemies litter the battlefield

Expect more gore in this one! I'm going to love leaving countless Iceni warriors everywhere! Have them run into my shield walls and just watch as they fall one by one and the blood DLC should be something amazing. As cool as dismemberment is, I hope it isn't done too much though. Sometimes it can be done over the top. A lot of the time, people were hacked in the body, downward hack into the shoulder etc. so I don't want to see arms flying off of every dude haha. The blood though, do not tone that down. In Antiquity, things were crazy!

No, my Iceni warriors shall leave the entrails of your Roman dogs hanging from the tress!

You should try Crimson Tide too. The blood texture is very high quality and realistic. Some pics:

Projectiles should be permanent this time, but allow it to be turned on and off for people with weaker computers.

i hope so, even though shogun 2 blood was there for the classical samurai movies i dont want blood shooting up into the camera, and flying halfway across the map. i want something alittle more realistic for rome 2. but decapitations and heads rolling on the floor would look pretty sweet

    Crimson tide does look realistic.
Only thing is, I just like 'em as bloody as possible

I mean, look how bloody the little guys can get (Skip to 14:30):

Not realistic, I know, but piles of bloody bodies makes for a more satisfying sight (and it also helps you see much more easily which units are injured).
    *Shameless self-promotion alert
