Seriously... Just use the inbuilt M2TW screenshot function. Then, crop and save as jpg with infanview... Or even windows snipping tool...

Fraps is probably the easiest to use site, everybody uses it. You just take a screenshot straight to your desktop by pressing a buttum

I do know, however, that if you press print-screen it copies the pic and you can paste it to a Paint format when you exit the game but this way is bloody annoying and complex, and you can only take one pic at a time....

There is a M2TW hotkey which makes a screenshot and transfers it to ''C:\Program Files\Medieval 2 Total War\tgas'' or wherever your M2TW map is located.
Don't know if Print screen is the same for everyone, as you can just configere them at controls.

Printscreen both saves it to the tga folder and lets you paste into paint. But TGAs are so obscure and there is no easy way to convert them into a normal format. (well, not as easy as my method (I can edit down a photo in under 3 seconds ))

I need to edit them anyway with paint, so I just save them there as png or jpeg or whatever you call it.
