Default Not enough generals, body guards, no authority

There are a few things that have been bothering me so I have to talk about them in a post.

The first thing is the fact that most factions simply don't get very many generals, by turn 40 in my goron campaign I have never lost one of my generals yet I only have 4 generals, defiantly not enough to govern my 24 territories or lead all my armies in battle.

Many people have complained that captains and generals rebel to easily, this is because you have no faction leader which means no authority. In M2TW the more authority you general has and the loyalty of the general determine how likely an army is to rebel, and it doesn't help that most of your settlements won't have a governor.

There is also the fact the general body guard units units aren't what they should be, there is Hylian generals leading Hylian infantry and not iron clad eliets Gerudo and Ordona generals are lead by weak infantry and not cavalry Lanorua and goron generals are lead by the weakest unit of infantry available. I could probably go on to

    I agree.
Had a bit more luck with me gerudo lasses. Got a few candidates for adoption and men of the hour.
They looked like ordinary ME2 generals, though. On their portraits I mean, and I think they had male Gerudo names too.
Well, I reckon they'll have this sorted out in a patch or two.

Adoption and the family tree are suppose to be turned off, your game bugged out. You probably know this but generals in this mod com from messages that tell you a new general is ready to serve you and he spawns at your capitol

Yeah, I too reiterated several times that the current system to produce new generals seems too arbitrary and causes serious issues. I wouldn't want to go back to the family tree system because that doesn't seem to fit in this mod, but a solution of some kind should be found.
Some ideas were thrown around which seemed to have potential (like a dedicated building that you need to have in order to make generals but which has some restrictions, like having very high costs-build times and producing only one general then having to be demolished and built anew... or something like that).

The authority and loyalty issues, while derivative of the above, could probably be solved separately just by rebalancing stats... I think?

I've had something similar in mind for a little while. For the player there could be a way to train new generals like new units but keep them at a controlled rate and the income should balance the fact that you have better stats in towns and better morale in battles. For the other civs you could keep the current spawing system but increase the spawns later in the game. Just an idea that I had floating around and here seemed the best place to voice it.

In Rome Total War Barbarian Invasion the Huns and I think some other peoples could train generals at the highest lvl of barracks or stables been long time since last played

Some mods still include recruitable generals. It's possible to do it, coding-wise, but then that just becomes one more thing to balance. The two most common problems in a recruitable-general system are general spam because they often become very OP when stacked or untenable generals who really don't justify the expense, ever, because the mod is trying to avoid general spamming.

The amount of generals should probably be tied to the amount of regions you control. That's how it goes in vanilla I think, although of course it's with family members. If we go with recruitable generals then there should be a cap at an amount that's roughly equal to how many regions you control. Also, a new general should spawn in at some point if one of them dies. I don't think that happens with the current system so if you lose one you can't replace him.
