Too early to tell, but a fantasy TW (Warhammer as many suspects) wouldn't hurt.

China Totalwar needs to be done sometime. It would be a nice buffer between Rome and Medieval.

I'd go for Animal Planet: Total War anytime... You could pick from many regional animal factions and try your best against pest attack of humanity. Devastating Moa bird cavalry attacks, close quarter boxing combat with kangaroo bush specialists... Ambushing amphibious crocodile/hippo attacks. Snake assassins.. You name it. Or you could go for easier Early era campaign with extinct mega-fauna... Mammoths, sabretooth tigers, cave lions etc... Lots of fun. Lot of ways to kill petty humans! Actually I wonder why is there no mode like this... Or is there..?!

Total War: Mongols could be interesting, given the fact that they have captured almost the entire world. Possible to make large map, the whole of Eurasia and Europe to obtain the three games in one. Total War: Mongols, Total War: China, Total War: Medieval

I would enjoy seeing Medieval (roughly 1000-1500) again and Empire (1480-1820). If Empire was done again I would want it to span from the beginnings of Spanish and Portuguese expansion, where people would have to discover the entire map depending on what nation they control. Even if you don't have trade ships sent to the East rumors would filter slowly back to Europe with the shadows and wisps becoming more solid--so more discovery than in previous Total War where there was still coastal outlines--complete blackness should you travel from traditional waterways. Minor trading nodes/ports turning into provinces depending how long you hold them, an expanded East to include China and the multiple Indian small kingdoms while in the West the different native tribes of North and South America, where the Aztecs and Incas attempt to carve out their empires and become strong enough to face the death of disease should others come and visit from the shores of Europe. Would it ever happen? Nope, but it would be an awesome game.
