Please note that ROME II will be region-locked in some territories, if you are buying a copy from overseas please check with your retailer if you will be able to activate it your home country. Further details on the regions this effects are here: http://wiki.totalwar.com/w/Total_War...l_Restrictions

nuuvem still safe ordering from Dacia, right?

If people have already activated their russian keys then there is probably no region lock. Still doesn't make it legal but if CA/Sega didn't bother to actually implement the region lock then they shouldn't be surprised if people take advantage of that.

Seems I made the right choice lads. Can start preloading today so no need for a hardcopy. Plus no region lock issues.

I would never buy on a website like that. Maybe an English site, but still. I bought it from iHeo for 34 usd/25 eur. He gifted it, so I can instantly start preloading, which I am atm. If not for him, I'd have bought a hardcopy for 40 eur.

It's a legit site, like GMG or GetGamesGO. I've bought many games from there and never had any problems, till now. It's not even their fault, it's this stupid region lock.
If I don't like this game it will be the last for me. No more TW games. That's it.

Never said they weren't legit. But language barrier issues and region locks are that much more risky when you're buying from sites which are stationed in these countries.

    Hello,

Let me clear this thing up a bit, yes, there are region locked keys, and possibly keys on Nuuvem will be region locked to Brazil too (my Brazil friend told me so, but he also said that Nuuvem is good and they give region free keys to people not from Brazil), but, my ROME 2 copies are steam gift, bought directly from steam with no region restriction, there is an easy way to check this, you can access ROME 2 Russia store page via this link http://store.steampowered.com/app/214950/?cc=ru

Now hover your mouse on the Add to cart button, and look at the bottom left, you should see some java ID stuff, here it's 27579, this is ROME 2's AppID on steam store

Now go to the US ROME II's steam store page http://store.steampowered.com/app/214950/?cc=us

And do the same, you will see the same AppID

Now both have the same AppID, means copies from US or Russia are just the same, with no region restriction, you can compare this with region locked game like Bioshock Infinite, Borderlands 2 .... AppID of these games on RU and US store will be different.

Thanks. In EU store it's the same AppID too, so that's alright. So far that news it was getting region locked (without any notice too?!) just seems fake or not in action yet. NONE of the stores worldwide have this atm, so every copy you buy now, will be regionfree.

If you have the game activated: Just create a shortcut for the game on the desktop. Right click. Choose "properties" and make a note of the rungameid ##.. search for the number on Steam DB. If you see something along the lines of

PurchaseRestrictedCountries expand RU BY UA AM AZ GE KZ KG MD TJ TM UZ
onlyallowrunincountries expand RU BY UA AM AZ GE KZ KG MD TJ TM UZ

Then you've got a region locked version.

This is strange though, because the id of the game differs from the 214950 id that iHeo's copies have BUT if you dig deeper into your links you can see that the 214950 is listed under the apps package. It seems the ones with the code 29318 come with the base game id of 214950 but have the region locking element added to them so the base id is changed to reflect that I assume. I might be completely off though.

Mine is 214950, so far the steam DB has nothing on that ID on restrictions. If anything we'll know more once the game releases. I've seen this issue with region locking in the past and Steam usually distinctly labels the region locked games in your library with something beyond the game title like "RU" or "EU". Other times it won't let you activate the product on steam, even if someone gifts you it. So far the iHeo copies are looking to be fine and legit.
