Hmm, so is there any difference between boxed copies from the UK site and the US site? I purchased a copy of Mass Effect once and it came from the UK for some reason and it came with a cheap DVD box with printed label... I mean it was the exact same game, wasn't pirated or anything but I'm a bit OCD when it comes to physical copes of material.

my thread meanwhile sunk into the deep of this forums. It seems no one does really care about paying 17 € more for a game in EU than outside, or at least in countries that do not use € currency officially.
Meanwhile I found the price for the Greek DLC 6.99 € so even this does not legitimate the 17 € we get ripped out of our pockets comparing to UK residents for example.
There should not be a difference where you buy it, the language is the same, Total War is even multilanguage, additonally it comes with a Steam key that is legit for any country (except if the country has another version (censored) so you cannot activate censored game US key in Germany at Steam.

Games / game DVDs do not have a region code like DVD or Blueray videos.

Hi there just want to let you know that I found a new site that offers digital downloads of Rome 2 worldwide and accepting different currencies (US Dollar, Australian Dollar, Euro, British Pounds, Sweden Kronen, Swiss Franken)!

    http://www.mmoga.com
I am not sure if we have it already but it is also cheaper than Steam, Amazon or even g2play.net

here are the "subsidiaries" of g2play.net
    Germany:
just in case you want to open a seperate faction for germany (but prices here are horrible, bought my Rome 2 finally on amazon.co.uk, they dropped the prices again)

Default Fans within the EU: Do not preorder at Steam but Amazon UK saves you 13 € / Greek City DLC price leaked

Hi lads, anyone of you that is using Steam in EU should have a price for Rome 2 that is about 54,99 € in the Steam Store

Today I found out that this seems to be only a thing for EU / Euro currency users, as I have been reported that for example UK Steam users pay only 34 € (29,99£) for Rome 2 with the DLC

Also I as I stated in another thread the Greek City DLC is currently free for preorder, leaves me to the question:

What price would the DLC will be? I have the answer now:
The Greek Cities DLC is already listed in the Steam Store search. Today I finally found the price:
The Greek Cities DLC will cost 6.99 € and will be released same day with Rome 2, so there is no benefit to pay more than 44,98 € for Rome 2

    This price is possible if you for example buy at g2play.net 37,99 € (Rome 2 without DLC) + 6,99 € (DLC) = 44,98 €

But 54,99 € minus 6,99 € (48 €) is still far away from the 34 € a british Steam user would have to pay - AND he gets the DLC aswell free for that price.

another option is amazon.co.uk: they sell it for 35 € incl. the DLC
plus a small shipping fee to all EU countries.

If you do not have preordered your Rome 2 yet and still want to have a better price use your existing amazon account and login to amazon.co.uk. Including with shipping you will definitely have a cheaper price than on Steam.

At least I was not able to resist and ordered my Rome 2 incl. DLC for 41,61 € at amazon.co.uk now including shipping.

    There plain no reason,
except if you say, "well I could have it digitally day one", to pay the current "additional EU-Steam fee" of 21 € just because you pay with Euro currency.

You might be interested to know that while The Greek States DLC including Sparta, Epirus and Athens for ROME II is free when you pre-order from participating retailers, it will be £5.99/$7.99/€7.49 if you prefer to pick it from release day.
Note that this may or may not be a generalization.

nah don't think so if you refer to the other DLCs we had in Shogun 2. But it may get expensive if we need to pay 7 € for any faction to be unlocked that we want to play in single player and multiplayer. Hope they change this, but thats off from this topic.
This should be informative and not hating

Well honestly I used my currency calculator and there is plain no cheaper solution, as the dollar lost a lot of worth. Even the "g2play.net solution" costs you the same at the end if you need to buy the DLC afterwards (59,31 US$)

That makes the European prices ridiculous, but it's about par for the course on our side of the Atlantic.

actually 60 dollars is quite cheap. I still find it so strange these differences in pricing. A few euros / dollars what ever difference because of tax differences I can understand. This is just a scam. Not other word for it.

I actually have written Steam a polite mail about with the same sort of topic a while ago. What they basically said is that they adjust their prices in co operation with the publishers and to the retail prices.

Somehowe though the eurozone is allways screwed. It is 20€ cheaper in the UK which is also EU country and has about the same price levels. No idea why uk is so cheap.

Still can be worse, in Australia it is even more expensive.

Yeah their prices pretty much belong in Trololololand.

Well perhaps SEGA have made an agreement with CA. Usually the function of a publisher (SEGA) is to make marketing and contracts with resellers and stores for the game studio (CA). As CA is an UK company and it is their anniversary they possibly want to get this game more famous with a lower pricing than elsewhere.
    Just a silly thought

Hi Kraxis check out http://www.mmoga.com/ they accept paying in AUD. Prices are surely more reasonable for most games.

Thanks, I'm not Australian though, but have seen plenty pictures, comments and screenshots of their prices to know that in general they are getting screwed royally.
But perhaps one can hope that they get the chance for more reasonably prices. I would though be wary of places that sells MMO money.

Well, there is Gamestop a few minutes away from me, so I could always pick up the game from there to avoid the crazy D/L time. Given the fact that the price on Steam and amazon are still at $60, plus tax, I might as well as just pre-order it at gamestop and pick it up on day 1.
