    Default Phalanx and Phallus, any connection?

    I have been wondering about this for some time now... Is a Phalanx a formation of Phalli?, not literally of course, but rather figuratively
    Or is it completely different roots of words? Given the tradition of military language being rather sexistic, it wouldn't suprise me actually

    Phalanx comes from a Greek word phalanx ​meaning finger. And yeah this is going to get locked,probably.
