Default DIPLOMATIC INTERFACE | Animated Leaders For Each Faction

Hey everyone, I like to discuss how the diplomatic interface will look like in Rome 2 Total War.

My idea was in order to make the diplomatic interface more appealing and fun to look at, CA could introduce animated leaders that react to your decisions, similar to the game CIV V.

It doesn't have to be a recognizable leader just an animated figure(s) that react to your decisions made within the diplomatic screen. (When you declare war, make peace, offer them gifts etc...)

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, here is an example from CIV V

Each faction would have their unique animated screen. It's something that adds a little more depth and character to the game in my opinion.

Take a look at Empire Total War's Diplomacy screen. I think it was too simple, lame and boring looking. With the new engine CA could introduce new ways that enhance our campaign experience. This could be one of them, what do you think?

Well, we already have this in Shogun 2.

yes I know, but with RTW2's diversity in cultures, factions languages etc we can hopefully expect something similar but way more in depth...

Didn't they already have that in Shogun 2?

Off topic: I never played Civ5, but that image looks like it came right out of Skyrim.
Bactrians will be Big 8. "Farther East" means Bactria.

You must be playing Skyrim on VERY low settings!

I'll be happy with Shoguns, but with a change in location and character and such.

@Vioras - I think the same leader problem with Shogun was that armour was passed down through generations (I think?)

yup, Shogun 2, I'll be perfectly fine if CA did the diplomacy screen how they did with Shogun 2 though adding in a bit of more options to it would be nice

I think they said they are going to add a few more crucial diplomatic options. I believe jack? said that we will be able to ask an ally to attack province X in Y amount of turns and if they refuse they will give us a reason.

What I do not like of CIV , is their style , too much a caricature of people and really ugly ... I hope CA doesn't take the same route ...

I think this depiction does great justice to Rome's greatest general.

Would be cool if you were in the Diplomacy screen with Rome, you would see the senate in the republican era, and maybe the emperor once/if they get to the imperial era.

exactly, i just read the text.

I do like that they speak in their original language, so thats maybe something for Rome 2

Would be a little difficult considering most or many of the languages has died out. But 2 or 3 would be possible.

Please not the leaders in CIV5 look like Donald duck (you know what I mean) and I don't want to see the same leader in the 200+ years game span

This is something I honestly could do without. Just give me a sleek and efficient interface.

This would be cool. Dealing with Parthia would be very interesting; one bad decision and your diplomat has molten gold poured down his throat!! Take that Romans!
