I would like to enter for the first time with my Georgia AAR, my last AAR about Courland had over 2.000 views and many people commented in my inbox that they really liked it. I hadn't played Empire total war in a while, but came back to this forum and saw how many people were asking me to continue.

So I started a new AAR, I'm really giving it my best now, with better story telling and better quality pictures. So I guess I want to stand trial now xD

    Here's the info:

It's 1700, the Kingdom of Georgia has struggled the past two hundred years to survive. Being situated on the South of the Caucasus it’s the last Christian state in the region. The last years their old neighbors quickly disappeared as the Ottoman and Persian empires emerged. Now these empires are threatening to claim Georgia’s lands to. From the north the Russian empire has been expanding south the last two hundred years, successfully fighting the Ottoman and Persian empires. As a fellow Orthodox Christian nation it could be a strong ally against the Islamic empires surrounding Georgia, but Georgia has to be careful, if Russia gets too power in the region it is most likely that they will try to annex Georgia in the process. In Europe the Ottoman empire seems on the retreat, Austria is keeping them occupied in the Balkan, pushing them further back there, while Venice and the other Italian states are gaining influence at sea over the Ottomans. In the far east the Maratha Confederation emerged, they could make strong allies in the future, if the Mugal Empire falls, Persia’s eastern borders won’t be save anymore, but for now Georgia has to survive on their own, expecting little help from other nations.

Georgia itself is divided, with a weak economy and not much of an army, things aren’t looking good. It’s up to king Giorgi XI to change the fate of nation and restore it back to its formal glory. Before the Mongol invasions Georgia was a great kingdom dominating the region. But that’s long ago, will king Giorgi XI succeed. Or will the kingdom of Georgia end to exist and end up being just another province in one of the greater empires surrounding them…

The Nascent Ranger Book 2 - Courage ( A Skyrim AAR)

    By: Chirurgeon

In the cold his shot went wide. The lack of sensation in his fingers affected his ability to sense the bowstring accurately. Halas knew he would not have time to fire a second shot especially when he couldn’t feel his fingers. Faendals shot plunged into the shoulder of the beast. It came roaring at them with great speed. Halas had his axes ready and Faendal stood off to the side. It came right for Halas and as it leaped Halas swung his axes. One connected with the head of the beast in a gut wrenching crunch. Faendal released his arrow at point blank into the side of the animal, its dying body landing on top of Halas knocking the wind out of him. Halas had the foresight to turn his axe blades so that they would not be pushed into his body as the beast fell on him. All Halas could do was gasp for air and Faendal rolled the huge animal onto its side and off of his apprentice. After a few moments Halas could breath again and was grateful.

Info 1545- Sengoku Jidai. The Age of the Country at War. For two hundred years the Ashikaga Shoguns have ruled from Kyoto. Great splendor and power were theirs. Now, the almighty clans no longer obey. The time has come for a new warlord to become Shogun. But who will reign victorious?

Yuki is a naive, young man. He has little knowledge of the outside world and he knows nothing but his small village. Yet a glimpse of the outside world, and the temptations of the power of the yumi, are enough to draw him out into a dangerous and deadly world. Men are but pawns of the people who rule over them, and though many claim to live by it, honor is all but gone. Now, total war seems inevitable and Yuki must find his place in a world, which cares little for the common man. But the gods seem to have their own intentions for Yuki. In a cruel and unforgiving world, one man will shape his own destiny and with it, his country’s as well.

Title: In the Holy Lands (link in the signature)
    Author: Strengelicher (me)
Game and mod: Medieval II, Stainless Steel 6.4
    Faction: Crusader States
    Short description:

Follow the diaries of Prince Alphonse de Brienne and the correspondence exchanged between him, the royal family, generals in the field and various agents as the Crusaders try to stem themselves against the tides of destiny. Surrounded by enemies who are discovering their common ground in a joint holy war against Christendom, find out whether faith and bonds of blood and loyalty are sufficient to protect the Catholics' foothold in the Holy Lands...

Currently, it is the year 1234 A.D., and Alphonse has just received news that Baudouin de Lorraine, his friend and brother-in-law, has fallen in battle while trying to defend Jerusalem against the Seljuks. Alphonse is thunderstruck - what else has happened? What about the city, and what of his sister and her children caught within the city walls? Is this the beginning of the downfall of his family? Only Strengelicher, eyewitness and guardian to the unfolding of this captivating story, will be able to tell you... and might just do so if asked nicely...

Wait shouldn't the vote go up now? There are 5 submissions

  10. #10

Default Re: MAARC XLVI - Submissions

True, there are 5 submissions - however, one of the submissions has only submitted one update from June 1 until now. Therefore, it is rendered an invalid submission, due to the two-submission/month (or in this case extension period).

We need one more submission with two updates since June 1, to propel the voting stage forward.

The venerable Radzeer... can it be him committing such a blunder?

You guys can always submit a current AAR, from another author, with author permission. This will initiate the voting process!

That would be kicking him out. A cunning move from a strategic point of view, as he would be likely to snatch the prize if he partakes. But I like to live up to the challenge. So the question goes to him whether he has another update ready in the foreseeable future... that would render his entry valid, would it not?

Yes, it has been a blunder. When I submitted my nomination I could not imagine not having another update by the end of the submission period. So technically, my submission is invalid. We have never had a case before when invalidating a submission brought down the numbers to small enough to prevent the poll.

    We have the following options:

    1. Extend the period until the end of August because of not enough submissions, and then include mine.
    2. Disqualify mine and have a vote with four submissions.
    3. Render the submission period void, and restart the submissions in August.

I take full responsibility for not submitting a second update, so I am perfectly fine with being disqualified. The rule should apply to staff as well. The only drawback of solution #2 would be that it may not make much sense to give out three medals for four submissions, so we may want to award only one or two. I do think it is important to move the poll ahead though as too long inactivity is detrimental to the whole WS.

So here is what I suggest. Please PM Dance (the host of this MAARC) your opinion. That way I will not be involved in any of the discussion. Whatever the majority wants is fine with me. As I said I do not look for any preferential treatment. The rules are clear and I have not met the requirements. Had we have enough stories, it would be a clear case.

To avoid any confusion, I will keep the submission thread up until August 31.

All submissions from June 1 to August 31 will be considered valid, which would, I believe, include your earliest submission, Radzeer.

So with the five we have, the vote will for sure happen, and a new submission thread will be available September 1st.

So those of you planning some future submissions, know the next contest will be available in September, if you do not wish to compete in this one, which inevitably has 11 days left for submissions.

This may be the last MAARC that does not contain Rome 2 AARs! Keep this in mind

11 days? That's awesome! Gives me time to crank out at least 2 non-prologue campaign posts for my AAR then get it submitted. I'd love to finally get something written down and entered into one of these competitions!

I'd like to formally submit Swords of the Sea now. I've got 3 prologue posts and 2 campaign turn reports.
