Lost Data

Hello all!

Im sure this is meant to be in another place, so if anyone wants to move it, please do.

I stopped playing Shogun for awhile, but booted it up the other day and saw it was still modded for all clans. I didnt really care much for it anymore (the fog of war thing drove me off it in the first place ), so I uninstalled and reinstalled it, only to find it was still there. I opened up my Data folder and, being the world class programmer I am, deleted my Data folder to put my older, backed up Data folder back on, only to find it gone! Ive uninstalled it again, and did some research but cant find anything with a convincing answer to my question:

Will Shogun 2 work again after I reinstall it? Some sources say it will be unplayable, while others say the Data will simply come updated via Steam.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

You need to delete both Shogun2 folders, one in steam\steamappa\common and the hidden one in users\username\appdata\roaming\the creative assembly that you have to log in as Administrator and unhide all files, folders, and drives to find.

Of course it will work if you reinstall the game.

If you 'just' want steam to download the files you are missing do a "Verify integrity of game cache".

Steam won' delete files you've placed in the shogun 2 folder yourself. But I guess you got that cleaned up...

Hey!

Thanks all very much for the info. I did think it would be weird if the whole game stopped working.

Time to reinstall and rule Japan as the Hattori!
