    Default Economy Question

I'm playing the game as Rome in 2.5 and trying to follow a survival guide that was made about 2 or 3 years ago. The economy seems to be vastly different at the beginning of my game compared to what I am seeing in the guide. I was just wondering if the economy was changed a lot in the updates leading to 2.5 or the starting unit costs and upkeep which would also affect the amount of money you are able to pull in early game. The guide ends up with about 62k after the first turn while I end up with about 2k. So either something is bugged with my game or I'm just following a very outdated guide in which case sorry about that.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

That survival guide is pretty outdated.

That's right. The script takes money off you in the beginning when you play Rome. It simulates the hard time Rome had because of Hannibal. So it's meant to be like that.
