What do you want for next total war after Rome 2?

Aye i would like a medieval/renaissance Game, much more expanded, then we previously got. I love renaissance warfare. But we had litle the oportunity to play with such armies in M2TW. With proper tercos and fixed pike units as well musketman.Originally Posted by GNU07

On another level, i would certainly like a Empire 2 remade properly, with a good knowned world map, not the horrible one we got in Empire.

Personally I would really enjoy a Medieval III. The updated engine would do wonders. Especially if we could get earlier medieval tactics in there, proper Germanic shieldwall etc

I know I've said it a million times, but I don't see why a Total War based around the conquests of the Mongols under Genghis Khan and his heirs isn't what everyone is clamoring for. It's pretty much Medieval 3 that spans from Japan to Europe, with opportunity of small scale and extremely large scale campaigns.

This x10. I don't know why everything thinks Medieval 3 should be confined to Europe when the most important event took place across the entire Eurasian landmass.
It would be incredibly hard to make but would be worth it imo.

I'm also not a real modern age and gunpowder fan in Strategy games, even though Empire surprised me positively.
Even though a LOTR:TW would be just awesome (considering the breathtaking work of the Third Age modteam even more professionally done), the relations of the different sides would be hard to build up. There was only good/evil (looking away from a few traitors), therefor it wouldn't be a real TOTAL War.
Because of this I like to see a Medieval 3, even though I barely played the second unmodded (shame on me).

Empire II would be great. 14th to 17th century covering colonialism, reformation, 30 years war etc. Really overlooked period of history.

Nothing, put this series out of its misery. Sell the franchise/technology to Paradox and let them use the 3D battle technology to complete their games.

i wish,that would be great. I think ca makes the worse best games [tw] ever. Confused?, total war is best game design/idea ever imo. Ca is terrible at making that best game design/idea ever. They care to much of graphics,none realism and arcade game-play.

I understand exactly what you mean. At the core of the game is a fantastic idea. The possibilities of the 3d battle system are tremendous, yet CA has failed to develop it in meaningful ways.

As much as I love the idea, I dont think a 3d battle system would really work on paradox games. You have battles with tens of thousands of troops, managing them would be a pain in the ass, not to mention the whole scale of the wars with plenty of battles taking place simultaneously, armies joining in battles etc.
My PC would burn at the thought of it.

Yeah simply merging the two would make an impossibly large game. I'm frustrated at how little Total War has advanced or matured over the years. All we get is new layers over polish over the same frustrating weaknesses.
