How to mod unit recruitment?

I am trying to make Otomo Matchlock Ashigaru recruitable at their castle chain, as they are not. I do not know how to mod Shogun 2 though, I've tried using the PFM but I'm having no luck. I've looked on all the forums and such, yet I still have no idea what I'm doing. I modded recruitment in Empire and Napoleon quite easily using the DB editor, but the PFM doesn't seem to be as straightforward at least to me. Can anybody tell me how to use it or direct me to a place to? A step by step for the first few steps would be useful.

What you want to edit is the building_units_allowed table and make sure it has it's own unique id number or it won't work.
