Question about generals/sub-generals

Hello to the forums,
so I have had this question: if a general dies,will any remaining general in the army (who has the highest command rate after him) take his place? Or there won't be any generals taking his place,resulting to a massive morale loss?

You mean within a single battle? I think that within a single battle, there's only one general/captain for any given army, and killing that general always leads to a negative morale shock regardless of whether there are other family members in the army.

Between battles, of course, another family member will take command of the army.
