Different horse types

hello

when is was discussing with Mausolos on the other thread i made, i thougth about this, obviously not all horse's in the ancient world where the same so why not have different horse types?

lets say for example, Scotland,North Spain and other mountainous areas had ponies better fit for the rugged terrain, while Asia had taller faster steeds, this could make for different horse types like, one is faster the other is sturdier, one does better in a rocky terrain the other is much better in the desert and steppes.

and as you keep conquering you begin to gain different type of horses and training cavalry in a certain province will give you a cavalry unit with those horses.

what do you think of this idea?

while the scots and other atlantic tribes ride behind on their smaller ponies , imagine that, as iceni, suebi or averni conquering parthia and getting their hands on the Nisaean breed, the romans would have a horrible time

I think this is a great idea! Different horses would diversify the factions even more and make them all unique to play.

Different horse types, both colour and sizes are confirmed. Nothing about terrain bonuses though. In this picture you can see that the left horses are smaller than the rightmost horses.

you are rigth, what a fool i am for checking for similar threads but not checking this picture , atleast i hope we can still speculate about the thougth of terrain and speed/sturdiness bonuses.

How would this differentiate with the stats of the rider? I mean i guess the charge bonus could go to the horse but idk if it would make much of a difference horse to horse. its usually the rider that gets the stats. i guess maybe cosmetically, i would like to see some different horses lol I would like zebras....lol jkjk but not really

fear the almigthy donkey zebra cavalry, they will **** you up

on topic: i had more in mind off a cavalry bonus in certain terrains, like some cavalry performs better in rocky terrain while others outclass in steppes and other open areas, like charge bonus on clear plains but charge penalty in more sturdy ground.

A more sturdy breed like the Fjord-horse would be nice to have in the game:

So far there are different sizes (I think in the Teutoburg-panorama the horses of the Germanic riders are smaller), but besides that, they look pretty much the same regarding the shape of their bodies and heads.
