Problems with RTRPE in multiplayer(LAN)

Hello,

Me and my friend are having some troubles playing Rome Total Realism: Platinum Edition in multiplayer(LAN). The game says versions are incompatible although we both have installed exactly the same patches and mods (rtw --> bi --> bi 1.6 --> rtrpe --> rtrpe 1.6). The only difference between us is that he's RTW/BI is installed with RTW gold (dvd package, includes BI 1.6 patch with installation) and mine is RTW and BI separately.

The problem shouldnt be network-related because we did have RTR 6.0 working just fine.

Anyone else had same kind of problems? Any solutions or advices how to get this working?

This problem was reported when we were on the rtr forums. Not sure what to say except we can hope that the RTRPE v1.7 full install will work well in MP.
