Default Desktop or laptop for Rome 2

I'm pretty new to Total War games and PC and I was wondering if it would be better to get a desktop or a laptop for Rome 2. I've heard of some pros and cons of both.

If you don't mind having something that isn't very portable get a desktop. They are cheaper to build and each part can be upgraded when it needs to be. If you need the portability and don't mind paying out of your ass for a gaming laptop, get a laptop.

Only reason for a laptop is if you travel a lot say for work and you want to get some gaming in while you stay away from home. That is my situation right now. I need a PC upgrade anyway Rome II or not but I was considering a laptop also only to play when I'm bored stuck in a hotel for a couple nights at a time. I was gonna pay more and give up the upgradability some what but decided to go with the desktop, more bang for your buck and more options. Although there are some nice laptop options out there. All depends on your budget and if you must be mobile.

I decided on a small form factor PC small enough if I really wanted to I can take with me and I got several monitors here as well won't be the first time I setup a PC system in a hotel room.

The only con of a desktop is portability.
